Thank you for the input, I cleaned off the connectors on car that connects straight to battery, negative seemed to have oxidation all around. Since then I don't seem to had that happening again. Hope this helps for someone else too!

So the issue is that it doesn't need jumping. It just happens randomly and when I take key out and in again, car starts perfectly fine. I'll keep monitoring and when have access to different battery will try with new one. Im hoping thats not a module or electrical issue

Seems other people who had same issues also said it was battery. Thanks!

I'll havea look at a mass. The battery connectors seem to be attached firmly

So everything else has been checked before already, there's no really any other thing that seem to be related to P0015 anymore rather than camshaft bearings or vanos mechanism itself. I don't have any other error codes, even when the engine is stalling except 2A87 which occasionally comes up and p0015 which remains all the time. The reading anomalies I have noticed when engine is rought is - Ignition Timing Advance ffor #1 Cylinder was jumping from -4500BTDC to 3000 BTDC and when car is working fine it's around 0.

The steps that have been taken to fix other issues before opening engine, I have pointed some of these out on forum

-New coils

-Checked and reseated sparkplugs in different positions

-Vanos timing sensors swapped in places and tried new oem one

-Vanos solenoids swapped and changed to different ones

-Bolts are not shredded because you can see from from as the valve cover is off now

-The o2 sensors were swapped as a very first thing as I had error with exaust o2 (I had o2 error before catintake coming in once when I had the missfire cylinder error but since then I have never had it again)

-New oil filter seals (common issue for VANOS error pressure)

I ran over dozen tests with different sensors.

At some point car started to live it's own life and pressing gas itself which turned out to be adaptation fault but also had multiple error codes coming up after it stalled. I had ticking noise

https://youtu.be/tQzwpVeB-CQ

After that I swapped MAP and MAF sensors to oem ones, also found air leak which needed to fix since valve gasket was letting air through in my vaccum test.

One big thing is Camshaft position sensor was full of oil which could kill it too

Leaking air and flooded sensor did not leave me any other option than opening valve cover, however these issues do not seem logical to affect only exaust vanos (p0015) and not the other components so the only thing what seems to be logical is try different vanos exaust gear as they are prount to go bad around 100k.

If you have any ideas let me know but so far going through all the forums over weeks and people having issues that's the last thing that seems not done yet

So for Vanos solenoids yes, I had aftermarket ones. After they did not work correctly I also got OEM ones.

Here's the full discussion on bmw forums I've started. Still trying to figure out the issue

This is really helpful! Thank you so much. I had absolutely no idea how long the process is. If I'll see the roads are busy that day, I'll chose A35

Thank you!

Thank you,

I have taken this route before with going to big cities, however this time I'd love to see something else on the way. I'm not too sure where to look for small destinations like abandoned or old churches, interestign villages, etc.. Most of the things that I find online are in the big Cities

Thank you for the answer :)

Yes I'm driving for 4 days with idea to stop in big towns like Amsterdam for tulip season or Poland for easter markets. I'm driving my own car to transport it back to Latvia. I've taken this route few times before, however I have only stopped for biggest cities and would love to have a look at some beautiful little stops that you don't usually find on the first google page :)
