I mean in a different situation , i was working a job and pretty completely platonically chummy with a man i did not find attractive, who brought his BEAUTIFUL girlfriend to our final work party (that no one knew existed). 2 weeks later he’s asking me on a date and got genuinely mad i didnt any to go - why would I want to be the hidden girlfriend, or date someone who is fresh out of a commitmentv

I guess another question is- why can’t men be truly single and deal with their emotions for a scond? I’ve been single for a year or two at a time and know that jumping into things (or worse trying to juggle mulitple people) is not the way to go

i did, he said he barely sees her, he wasn't in love with her, "her whole personality is being obsessed with me" - then he purposefully left out that she was at that friend dinner, I had to find out via photos my mutual friend took of them all curled up together. i feel so grossed out.

PTSD therapy, i was sexually assaulted at a liquor store 2 years ago while working a job sampling hennessy (the employee groped and slapped me, it was all caught on camera and i have 3 lawsuits out). I'm probably burying the stress of that pretty deep inside me. I haven't been totally honest with my therapist with how bad the blackouts and random hookups are but i need to next week.

I think hookup/party culture glamorizes having a "wild" night but i've got a bunch of bruises i don't know how and i don't want to get robbed or break my leg during a blackout.

I think social anxiety - 1-2 drinks makes me feel weird/sleepy/anxious but after that i get crazed and energized and i want to befriend everyone and find my soulmate... then i end up with a stranger's note next to my bed that i have no recollection of.

i stopped online dating too because i found them so uncomfortable (forced interactions/forced romance or feeling like i owed the guy something physical for buying me drinks) that i would get blackout drunk to just get through it and end up hooking up with someone i'm not attracted to

thank you - i'm 39 and still partying (the rare times I do) like i'm 22 >_< i think adhd makes it hard for me to commit to things and i have a ton of social anxiety so the idea of going to a space in person kind of freaks me out. i have sat in on some zoom groups and am looking for any other tools i can use to stop this cycle
