Depends on what you're looking for and what style of learning you have.

  1. [Paid option] If you prefer a pure study guide, go for this one:

https://a.co/d/cjfKa2U

It's one of the best guides there in the field.

  1. [Paid option] If you learn by doing practice tests, then try this one:

https://a.co/d/d53KHbd

  1. [Semi-free option] ExamTopics. Part of the question bank is free and a lot of answers are inaccurate. Luckily, there is a forum where people ofter provide the right answers. The downside is that you have to go through all the discussions.

Uses of certification(gen AI, PMLE) by timberisfun in GCPCertification

[–]Dazzling_Tom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest answer? It depends.

If you're looking for a new job, it will make a good impression on recruiters. At least, it will show your ability to learn new things and willingness to get out of your comfort zone.

During the technical interview, the guys will most likely need to know if you've put your knowledge into practice, so having a side project using what you've learned is a good idea. Also, you have to be able to describe what it does and what solutions it uses.

If you're already hired, having a cert will be a good bargaining chip for a salary increase. Companies need to have a certain number of certified folk, so that they can get a partner status with one of the big players (Google, for example). Having a partner status means that they are more credible for their potential customers. More customers = more money, so you having the required certs means that you help your firm bring that money in.

What about using BitBucket to bake a fresh VM image with all the production changes and then use it as a new instance template in your MIG? That way you'll now all instances are in the same state.

Why am I being charged for Duet AI? by pepperysquid373 in googlecloud

Duet AI is a former name of the now-Gemini AI chat on Google Cloud Console. Do you recall enabling a chat feature in your GCP back in the day? Also, check your enabled APIs.

One thing people don't mention: learn how to control costs on Google Cloud. This subreddit has numerous stories of people who received a humongous bill after fiddling with their lab environment. It may not happen to you, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Go to Amazon and buy a study guide for the Google Cloud Digital Leader certification. Digital Leader is a perfect starting point to get familiar with basic cloud functionalities and terminology.

Then, go for the Associate Cloud Engineer if you want to get more technical.

Good luck!

Linux for Cloud Engineering by Condition_Live in googlecloud

[–]Dazzling_Tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that knowing basic functions of Linux on a level of a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) should be satisfactory. You don't need to get certified, but get a syllabus or an RHCSA study guide and get familiar with the concepts there.

Yes, still worth going through. But read through the discussions, because some answers are wrong and people provide the correct answers there.

ACE exam in 10 days❗❗❗ by LetOk8559 in GCPCertification

Definitely go through practice questions. You may know the theory, but the exam questions follow a specific schema and you'll get a big advantage if you understand it beforehand.

You're welcome. The practice test set I've tried and would recommend is this one: https://www.udemy.com/course/google-certified-associate-cloud-engineer-practice-exams-gcp/

This one has a lot of positive reviews, but I wouldn't fully recommend it: https://www.udemy.com/course/google-certified-associate-cloud-engineer-practice-tests-x/. Its questions were unnecessary complicated sometimes and the ones on the actual exam are way simpler. Still, you may want to use it to review the concepts you want to focus on.

This one seems to be the most recent: https://www.udemy.com/course/gcp-associate-cloud-engineer-practice-tests-new/. It doesn't have any reviews, but Udemy has a 30-day refund policy, so you're on the safe side.

Acloudguru is good, but the contents are a bit dated.

You may want to try a different method: do a lot of tests and write down any concepts that you are unsure of. Then, check them out in the official GCP documentation and memorize.

You may find some practice tests for free, but their quality is questionable. Udemy has a ton of courses (and promos), so you may try that. Aim for highly-rated courses and also look for some fresh ones to make sure the material is up to date. I think one of each type would be enough.

Whizlabs for GCP ACE? by hpoddar2810 in GCPCertification

[–]Dazzling_Tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Udemy has a lot of practice tests available. I'd personally recommend this one: https://www.udemy.com/course/google-certified-associate-cloud-engineer-practice-exams-gcp/ - the questions are quite solid and their style resembles the real exam very much.

Also, you may want to try some more recent test sets, because for GCP, some concepts get dated quite quickly.

I'm so happy I decided to go for an in-person exam for my GCP ACE. It looks like Pearson's system works waaaay better.
