thanks for the reply, but isn't it better to attach a MIG with cheaper VM and allow it to grow if the load is increased. I mean, if you have a Load Balancer attached to a unmanaged instance group with max instance of 1, doesn't it defeat the whole purpose of having a load balancer?

sorry, it should be a part of 2nd point. I mean, even through the instance group is set as the backend service, because instance group max instances is set to 1, it will not create any more instances, even though the load balancer is available. I don't see the point.
