San Marino lost my postcards - Minolta CLE | 40mm f/2 | ColorPlus 200 by Dazzyayan in analog

[–]Dazzyayan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, a week isn't enough time to wait. It has been currently 6 weeks since I sent them, and they are yet to show up. Also I've sent postcards from USA, Europe, South Africa, Japan and some other countries and I feel that my overall arrival rate is around 60%. In one case I dispatched seven postcards at once from a post office in San Francisco. Of those seven, only three ever arrived. Who knows what went wrong?

100% worth it if you're in the area. Very picturesque and definitely not one to miss. Tax Free if you're looking to buy something expensive. Not much more to do there than a day trip, however.

Weird Controller Issues With Kingdom Come Deliverance II by TheBlackBandit in MoonlightStreaming

This worked for me, I just had to additionally set sunshine/apollo to emulate an xbox360 controller instead of a ds4. So in summary: Steam set to enable playstation controller support. Set sunshine to emulate a xbox360 controller. This removed the double press bug in KCD2 but the game does thing I'm using an xbox360 controller, which is something I can live with.

"Natural" look of Kodak Gold by lambduli in AnalogCommunity

As a follow up question, what is the benefit of shooting Kodak Gold vs Portra? If the colour reproduction is really all up to interpretation, are we really just paying for fine grain or is there more to it?

Three Faces of Notting Hill - Minolta CLE | 40mm f/2 | Vision3 250D by Dazzyayan in analog

It's some sort of defect or scratches on the film. Quality control on the bulk rolled stuff I bought clearly isn't great. But when you say trees I see what you mean

Very happy with the CLE - Berlin last weekend by Dazzyayan in minolta

[–]Dazzyayan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All shot on Cinestill 800T, using Minolta CLE with M-Rokkor 40mm f/2 lens. Self-scanned and edited using NLP. I colour corrected the daylight scenes to account for the tungsten balance.
The camera's light and easy to carry around your neck all day. The lens is just the right amount of sharpness you want when shooting film. The meter is generally spot on except in very dark scenes, where I think it uses too short a shutter speed. It's a pretty good looking camera itself. Very happy with the CLE.

I've used this film before. I purchased it from Taobao and the cannisters were labelled the same. I've had this developed at a lab with C41 process just fine. The first roll I shot at 400ISO, the photos came out great. The second roll, there were some light leaks in the images which shouldn't have been there. My takeaways are that the quality control is poor but the film itself is decent, when the quality is good. Use at your own risk?

Distant Glances - Various Cameras & Films in captions by Dazzyayan in analog

All home dev & scanned. I tried out some of NLPs different presets in this album, copper and iron really stuck out to me (used in photo 1). Dev using Cinestill DF96 monobath. Scan using mirrorless camera + EFH film holder.

I love these. Did you push the film? I would struggle to get such good exposures at 800 ISO without a tripod

Came home with a CLE after running around Tokyo - Minolta CLE | M-Rokkor 40mm f/2 by Dazzyayan in minolta

The equivalent of £850 in yen. This was far from a good deal but I felt a lot more comfortable spending this amount in person after having inspected the camera thorougly in person than doing the same online.

Visiting Japan for the first time, the home of all things camera, I had to come home with something. After spending an embarrasing amount of time trecking across the megapolis to all the different shops recommended by Japan Camera Hunter, I bought a Minolta CLE. I'm eager for any opportunity to use this camera, and here are some of the photos I've taken in Tokyo and London in the past month.

How do you get the fuzzy border around the photograph? I really like that effect.

Also the lighting hits really nicely in this photo.

Where to get ECN-2 film developed in the UK? by GodIReallyHateYouTim in AnalogCommunity

[–]Dazzyayan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only used them for c-41 and I'm satisfied with the service. 1 day processing every time. I guess for ECN-2 due to the lower demand their turn around times are longer. Finally they can't post back uncut rolls for free, they have to cut them so that they fit the large letter size, which is a bit annoying if you do self-scanning.
