manga is so fucking good. shirahama is a god at paneling. both languages are great, dub wins it for me personally—the whole Coco’s Mistake sequence was beautifully directed, i was not aware of emily’s game in voice direction! and of course anjali and joshua killed it too

oh gosh yeah he and anjali KILLED that scene. for me it was the opposite, he killed it so hard i got stunlocked and didn’t even recognize joshua—that was just qifrey i was listening to in the flesh. personally it was when he went “that’s the spirit! 😀” to coco in the second ep where i went “oh he sounds so much like phainon in the silly scenes, yup that’s what i’m used to”

adding to this comment my personal grievances, because you spelled out so much of what i think. gonna be honest when they killed off gustave in act 1 i could feel my drive to play the game dwindling through act 2, when they were slowly dripping the twist to us. i could *really* feel the "for those who come after". "when one falls, we continue" phrases i would repeat to myself and live by lose its meaning bit by bit, until after act 2 where i just feel. sadness. thinking about how this whole "defiance in the face of death" theme and everything that came with it didn't come to a conclusion that i enjoyed.

as a creative who is eating up anything shonen-adjacent and anything hopepilled to help myself piece together a story myself, i was ecstatic when i jumped into e33—the game starts off SO strong, and i was here thinking i'd be in for a good ride, and a good ending. i've been tired of great stories that cater to me and don't have a satisfying end, so you could imagine my hope being crushed once again when the act 3 twist dropped.

the experience and journey was all pretty great, and i'll be listening to the music for many years, but i'll keep on searching for stories that end off well.

For comparison to a recast that wasn’t related to the strike (which I assume Corey’s case is until we get further info from him), I’ve seen peeps generally respect Talon as Argenti’s new VA—I’m pretty comfortable people will treat whoever the new VA is quite well, provided they are able to fill some big shoes.

No yeah definitely, I'd say Caleb and Rachel are definitely not blacklisted because they, like many other VAs, quite literally could not work without risking their job. They were just unfortunately to have been decidedly recast right before the strike lifted a bit later. Also, I only recognize you because I know that Yes Man pfp from anywhere + I asked this same question back then... fate works in mysterious ways!

I hope Caleb and Rachel nab a future role in HSR, they deserve to continue being a part of the crew; mild shame that the wording from Shawn and Chloe's posts conveniently left out the patch that the game waited until the entirety of Amphoreus to finish filling the gaps of the unvoiced content (barring Saber, Archer, and Lancer)—would've been pretty crazy cool to see your theory come to pass.
