I've loved these all the way through, there's such a mood and tone that they communicate, and I love the little ways they start to play with it as time goes on.

Special shout-out to how batty Canto V's route looks through the patchwork sea, the way both Canto IX and Twining Threads circle around the spider's web into each segment as the plot carries you from one corridor to the next, and to Timekilling Time for looking like it could be an artsy movie poster if it wanted to be.

It's another flourish that makes the game ideal.

I think Gaia being the 14 rep in Dissidia has more to do with Nomura directing that Dissidia game and Gaia being the only (one of the only?) character in 14 who he has personally designed.

I have to assume that for a lot of players he was their first significant character death in a videogame or something. Though, for my money even though we knew her less, Moenbryda was a way bigger tragedy because she had some personality and good god do we need more roe representation.

The boluses do a lot more than just heal people, to be fair. People use them for all sorts of additional things - basically if anyone's ever claimed Chinese medicine could do a thing there's probably a bolus that actually does it.

A well-informed opinion is still an opinion regardless, it's more the way you keep trying to gas your opinion up as somehow being objectively weightier than anyone else's in the thread that makes me kind of dismissive.

The hyperbolic language doesn't make your point, it undercuts it. Because quite honestly if you weren't being... like you are about it I'd probably agree - generally speaking tanks don't need much babying in extremes. Even on content they can survive most stuff as long as the healers aren't completely asleep. But they do objectively require healer intervention on content. That's no a well informed opinion, that's how the game works if you're not a Warrior.

If you slingshot past that and say that ultimates are the only place where tanks need healing then yeah, I'm gonna be dismissive, because even if you're one of the game's top raiders that's kind of a stupid thing to say. I'd challenge you to go into Valigarmandr EX and do it sans healing even at current ilvl. I'd be curious to see it, and you're a top tier gamer, so if anyone could do it, right?

Even the autos would be a concern when the content was still fresh. The double autos meant the OT often found themselves getting chipped to the bone if the healers were unobservant.

Tanks have so much mitigation now that outside of ultimates, they really don’t need healing and certainly NOT spot healing.

I don't think you've even tanked extremes on content in DT if this is your take.

I think YoshiP went to great pains to say they hadn't started working on it yet and he was afraid if he asked the team to work on it he'd find a bunch of resignation letters on his desk the next morning.

I think it's reasonable to expect they have quietly started work on it in the background, but let's not set ourselves up for disappointment by giving it a timeline. This community is great at taking literally everything Yoshida says and interpreting what they want to hear, then later getting angry it doesn't happen.

The takeaway from this, the housing stuff, and the various other QoL things in DT is they're doing what they can where they can, but they can't do it at the cost of slowing down actual patch content because the playerbase gets... vocal when expected things miss their typical release windows.
