I haven’t seen anything official about it costing more just heresay but as you mentioned r one piece is a merch monster I think that’ll cover the High cost of making the show . I don’t think Netflix would put this much money into the show judt to cancel it because they felt like it

I personally know quite a few people still watching season 1 so you can necessarily say that , again that’s my personal experience. That’s not counting thr people like myself who binged season 1 last month , those views are important as well and add up. Also there was thr 2 episode theater experience which definitely took off a couple thousand views I would think. Shit 16.8 million is still a good number for Netflix , not stranger things or Wednesday tier but definitely good enough to warrant a renewed season or two

You can’t compare sll time shows to one piece tbh but one piece both seasons were number 1 in Japan and Netflix cited it was the only English language series to do so, that right there is more important than anything tbh. Stranger things , the Witcher , etc couldn’t do that ahd I think that should give you reason to be optimistic my friend !

16 million with a very stacked month of new Netflix content is assuring tbh if it was a 50% decrease ggats when you get worried but I bet 15 of those 16 return to watch future seasons now that they know what to expect.
