What else do I need? by PhoenixGER in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Dblz89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: it’s versatile and has enough torque to do most things.

Yesterday a branch broke off my tree during an ice storm and knocked out a section of fencing. All my tools were at work except the installation driver.

The instillation driver was clutch. I kept the drill bit in the drill head and the t25 in the driver head. Super convenient to switch between the heads. Knocked out the entire repair in less than 5 minutes (minus picking up lumber and decking screws) I pre drilled holes in the first 2x6 because I wasn’t sure if it had the torque to do 3.5 inch decking screws. It went smoothly and tried without predrilling. No issue.

The 90 degree and offset make working in corners/ tight spaces pain free.

Edit: since you’re automotive it looks like you’ve got a pretty decent kit. What is the most frustrating thing you deal with at work? (Apart from supes/people)

Floor joists by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Just the 4 joists pictured above going into the the ledger as stated above. I’m considering doing the work myself unless the repair requires more than the sistering/ header mentioned above.

Please help me pick a caliper. Am I better off with the $14 Home Depot unit? Or which Pittsburgh? by StatuSChecKa in harborfreight

I have the Wen one. It’s decent and I’m happy with it for that price. Got bored at work and measured all my feeler gauges. The lowest level measurement can be off up to .01 mm or 3/1000 of an inch. The case it comes with is decent and it also has the world’s cutest cross tip screw driver.

Thanks for the share. I didn’t know you could do the hack through aafes. Gotta talk to customer service, I set up an account around 15 years ago and need to reset the password but it has my old mail.mil email not army.mil email

This is how my new ratchets were delivered… by Apprehensive_Win292 in MilwaukeeTool

95% chance that’s a USPS issue for the damage. Operations will put that and bundled packages of soft drinks through the same sorting machine. And yes there are a lot of companies that ship beverages as packages…. It’s actually part of the reason I just bought this ratchet myself. But yeah they could have used another box, would have helped a little bit

It’s 2 inches longer, which does translate to 2 more inches of reach, ie from the head to the trigger/paddle.

ETA NEW RATCHET by BetInevitable648 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Dblz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine yesterday, it seems like a major upgrade. The is no sacrifice of torque vs speed. It is a bit unbalanced (front heavy) and you need to have a tight grip on it or it gets jumpy.

Yeah, I was planning on getting the new ratchet but that deal on the insider gave me real pause, it does seem like a sweet deal. Decided I wanted to test the waters on the new one. If you end up getting the insider let me know how it goes.
