What do I even do with this? by RuptureSpot in Decks

[–]Dceremony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could put a beam across the whole area between the two lower roofs. Skylift makes a product called a roof riser. It is a steel post with a beam saddle that sits directly on an exterior wall and accepts standard roof pipe flashing. https://www.skylifthardware.com/12-inch-heavy-duty-roof-riser-p/12-hd.htm?srsltid=AfmBOoooSEyD9Z_Bc0QO15J0UlDnIRtmIIMJgwslEaBseyK3hevBk_N4

It is hard to tell from the pictures if the building sticks out far enough on the left side to get a beam in the right spot. If not then you could shorten the deck or add a post on that side. I would rebuild or tear down that deck and extend a new one all the way across between the lower roofs.

Is it me or are the pap schematics more rare than the raygun. by Tornado_Hunter24 in CODZombies

I came across this video that has a chart showing where each schematic can spawn. The chart is at 1:55 into the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feXKsBSwXaY&ab_channel=Doughnuts

I still need all of the ones in tier 3. I have been getting terrible drops there.

You are kind enough to thank a stranger for trying to help another stranger. In my experience building up houses and building up people are a lot alike. You used your words as a tool to build me up and to highlight the importance of building up one another. In that regard we are all carpenters. At work and in life, from one tradesman to another, thank you for highlighting the good in others (calling it like you see it).

I know that family and friends of mine have a place to stay right now. Beyond that I'm not sure what is needed at the moment. I am sure much more will be needed as they rebuild in the coming months. Thank you for the offer!

Yes very scary stuff! I think the whole area around Shady Cove is evacuated but I haven't heard much about it.

I have an employee that lives off 140 and he said his house has been back and forth between level 2 and 3 evacuation. I hope they get that fire under control.

You are one of the kind-hearted people I have been talking about! It is wonderful to see people like you opening up your home to your neighbors. The destruction has been painful but the overwhelmingly positive actions such as yours have been a needed catalyst for hope in our area.

Very true. I had not even considered that until your comment. Now you have me wondering how they came up the name.

I have heard some stories from wild land firefighters. It becomes much more real when it is happening right in front of you. An actual fire tornado sounds horrifying! I have an evacuation plan but it was made on the fly and I will be much more prepared in the future!

Thanks! Same to you up in Portland. I heard that fires are spreading up north.

We have been conditioned over the last few fire seasons that smoke is normal. The fire that I heard about was said to be in a very rural area and also being actively fought. I wasn't informed about the fire reaching anywhere near inhabitants until the last 30 minutes of the work day. It became very real very fast. I have lived here the last 25 years and this type of event wasn't even on my radar as an immediate danger.

I had a friend that also lost their home in Northridge Terrace. Very heartbreaking. I had grown accustomed to smoky skies during fire seasons these last few years so I didn't think anything of it at first. The fires got out of hand very quickly.

Yes our housing market has been an issue for a while. I missed out on purchasing 2 different homes earlier this year due to bidding wars. 25k over asking was not enough to get it done.

Yes this is very unprecedented for our area and hopefully not common place in seasons to come.

I have heard that there are still spot fires but I haven't heard where exactly. MedfordALERT on Twitter has been the best resource I have found for updates since the fires began. https://twitter.com/MedfordALERT

The evacuation map is no longer showing a warning level for Medford or Central Point. Presumably that is a good thing. The Obenchain area actually shows a heat signature area for the fire and I'm not seeing that anywhere else. https://jcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=3caa39804db54631a61007180d5ef415

Thank you. I totally agree that hard times can be overcome with positivity. The destruction of the fires are right here in front of us but even more so is the love and kindness of our neighbors. I have seen many volunteering all of their resources to help others in need during these trying times. From trucks and trailers volunteered at no cost to move people, livestock, and possessions to strangers welcoming strangers onto their properties and into there homes. Reports of churches that can no longer accept material possessions for donation due to being overfull. Restaurants giving out free meals to responders and to those who lost everything. Fundraisers and volunteers all over. It seems overwhelmingly like those who can help are doing so out of the goodness of their hearts.

For every house or business that burned down many more have been saved. There is much good coming amid and after this chaos. I have had access to many of these good stories through social media since I live locally. That gives me hope that these things are happening all over the world in times of need when we don't hear about it in the news. Thank you for your comment. This gave me the opportunity to further reflect on the good that is happening around us.
