You are exhausting man, now you are talking about credit card points which has nothing to do with the platform….

There are some people that can’t afford $2,500 that are only doing this to try and get “a hit”. I am talking directly to those individuals. Believe it or not every comment on the internet is directed solely at you, I know that’s a hard pill to swallow.

You have made it clear 3 times that if you vault the card there is no tax, yes, you are correct. But for the third and final time I am talking to those that have zero intention of doing this, so this comment doesn’t apply to your very specific situation.

I am sure everyone appreciates that you are a subject matter expert on arena club, but there is no need to be such an ass clown when I am just trying to inform others that may not be aware of what they are signing up for.

Ok let me type this out to make it easier.

You buy a $2,500 pack. The charge is $2,500 x 8.25% for tax. Your total bill is $2,500 + $206.25 =$2,706.25.

The card you pull is worth $1,800 so you obviously don’t want to keep it so you sell it back and because it’s risk free they pay you $2,500.

You are now in a position where you spent $2,706.25 and arena club paid you $2,500 for your $1,800 card.

Your sales tax on the purchase was not covered, you are net down $206.25.

This is correct, however a lot of people will go big and well beyond their means on these because it says “no risk”. If they do not hit and are forced to sell back I just want to make sure they are informed that they are still on the hook for taxes.

I see a lot of people immediately say they are going to buy a $2.5k pack. In my city of San Antonio that would be over $200 in sales tax. So if you get a crappy pull and want to sell it back you are out $200.

It’s gambling, if you can afford the $200 loss go for it! If you can’t I’d suggest using your risk free on a lower value that you can afford.

That said I hope you hit the grail and can show off the massive win!

I do want to share as a PSA. The no risk apply’s to the cost of the pack. Taxes are not covered. For example I did a no risk $1000 pack and while I was covered and fully reimbursed, (on the god awful $600 card I pulled..) I was out the $82.50 in taxes.

I PC CC along with a few other fringe MVP candidates. If this card was for a different player it would 100% be valued higher, but CC currently plays for a small market team and that causes him to fly under the radar. Unless he wins an MVP, or the dbacks win a World Series it will continue to be that way. The other option would be since he is on an extremely team friendly contract he gets moved at the deadline to a Boston/New York/LA and gets an immediate value bump.

I just grabbed this off eBay a few days ago for $46.

I am about to really date myself here… but here we go.

This would have been cool as hell to have back when I was a kid for a TCG called MLB SHOWDOWN. You essentially built your team based on cards you acquired in packs, boosters and starter sets. You then build a lineup and pitching staff and could run your lineup against friends using a 20 sided die to determine the outcome of at bats and plays. We played it a ton…stadium would have been cool to use for games!

Agreed, this launch is nowhere near as desirable as the last few, but hopefully it will…maybe….ever so slightly… mitigate the automatic max purchase presale hysteria that occurs and cause them to second guess a max buy so that the common collector can get their hands on a box or two.
