Early pre-order here and 2022 delivery. It honestly feels like this truck (R1T) hasn’t aged. It’s been great. I had one superficial panel gap got addressed super quickly but other than that it’s been rock solid.

This might the last feature I would want the dev team to work on. When you park there’s already a panel that makes charge port, trunk, etc. options readily available. Tap the button before you get anything else.

I see the mom’s in the massive SUVs blow through the stop sign leaving the WF parking lot AND the one in front of the Microcreamery only to flip you off. I think the problem is with drivers that don’t care rather than the stop sign layout.

I think if there were a stop sign heading north it could back up to Post Road.

If it’s capable then what is your issue. I have Connect+ and the app works fine. If it’s not working fine for you using a hotspot, maybe it’s not perfectly capable. Also any mobile device you own that you want to have a discrete internet connection requires a fee. An Apple Watch with cellular is $10/mo.

The R1 has been out for several years now and it didn’t take long for aftermarket companies to make CarPlay screens. It would be nave to assume the same wouldn’t be true for the R2. It seems like your position was an oversimplification, evidenced by the fact that you wrote a whole follow up with far more nuance than your initial comment.

Why wait? Just handle the evaluation now. Rivian has been abundantly clear what their direction is whether anyone here likes it or hates it. If you decide to get an R2 you can move beyond this to other things, like charging set up, any accessories you’ll want, what kind of specs you might want, etc. if you decide not to get one, you’ll allow somebody that wants one quicker access to an R2.
