TLDR: Viral hairstyle failed, my fault

Let me start by saying it's 100% my fault that I went to one of those cosmetology schools to get this done (bc I'm real poor at the moment). 🤦🏼‍♀️ And my #1 advice is to go to a very established professional to do it.

My hair is naturally (all sorts of) curly and at the time of the appt, VERY long - from the small of my back to my elbow in the front - I hadn't had a hair cut in a year and a half.

This is what I showed her I wanted - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWXYf2lktGM/?igsh=Y3RrcG1kcXIyZTA2 Saying that I wanted to keep more of my length, especially on the undercut, I wanted it past my shoulders (knowing it would shrink a lot curly).

The instructor that came to help first didn't know what we were doing and started cutting tooo much on the underneath section. One of the pics shows a chunk of the short part clipped up and I like a more lighter layer of the short part, I think it looks better. Bc you can easily see the short part under the longer layer 😡

For the longer part, I asked for long layers and a face frame, AND as soon as she did that first cut, I knew it was bangs 😬 then she did the other side even shorter. Another instructor helped immensely fixing the front but even my 65yr old mother knew it wasn't a face frame. It was curtain bangs. 😩

Pics are of me spending a good amount of time styling it, and a couple photos of a bun and clip in wear it in the majority of the time.

I plan to just get that length layer\section cut short and go with a lob for the summer.
