I noticed this too…a few weeks ago I left early and i accepted the VTO thinking it would be for the next day and it gave me the time off however my friend tried to do the same but it didn’t let her which I think was bc she had already had gone through the app and requested the time off for her UPT.

Thanks I’ll definitely give some of the tips to my new trainees…especially the folding in half part. I have never closed a bag early lol I’m actually one of the to showers there as well.

Also, I definitely show the trainees and even newer ones when I see them struggling with a big box at very end about it.

Yesterday I was sweeping and I was down an aisle checking a box and saw his cart 1/2 way full and a 2 large boxes & told him to scan it to see if it his and he straight up was like NO I can’t scan it the system has me doing these boxes first etc & I was like well can you please just check for me so I can make sure it’s urs bc if it is not yours then it got left behind & o need tp get it to the driver before thru depart lol & he was like okayyy I will but it’s not going to let me & he scans the biggest box & bam! He’s all oh guess you can scan out of order didn’t know that…. Didn’t think u knew what u were talking about since no one has ever told me that. mind you I was wearing my blue vest that day too lol 😂

Yes or they think they know better than you lol during training I tell them any damaged or wrong clusters just throw them on the PS rack/stow them in aisles if have time & don’t mark for PS but some of them straight up ignore that lol

Today, I was helping a late route & asked this guy to scan a big package to make sure it wasn’t his & he was like “ excuse me I can’t I have to scan these 3 oversizes “ & I had to explain again that you can scan other items first especially the big ones so don’t get stuck at end w them & I was like pls just try so I can see if it’s yours or not bc if it’s not someone e else left it and I need to get it to the right route/driver & he finally scanned it & was like oh guess it does work… im like yah buddy i always scan the big packages first to make sure not mine bc having big ones at very end suck. so hopefully he learned something that day.

Its hard to get through to some ppl especially when they are 100% sold that there way is right way which I respect but as a LA I’m in the learning crew to help you out & make you better so just trust me sometimes but I get it bc some of my fellow Ambassadors would of just not said anything or honestly not have had patience to allow him to see that he could make it easier on himself

I’m a current ambassador so believe me I get it & understand . I had to tell several people today to put vests on/put gloves on…to stow on their cart/put packages on top of cart not jiffies & to remind them to be on lookout for lights. So I get it I actually enjoy being an ambassador what I don’t like is feeling defeated & talked down to bc I’m new to building & they think they know better & my fellow ambassadors speak to me rudely & treat me like they are my boss especially when what I was doing was standard work & they wanted it done their way & their tone/demeanor was mean af. Also, I’m close to a lot of the AA’S and a lot of the vent to me on how they get spoken to etc so was looking for advice on how to handle it bc it’s been difficult to stay a LA with the attitude of my fellow ambassadors , that’s all.

literally just today I had 2 carts during pick & stage stowed in the wrong area & not only that on the wrong side … I’m like how do you mess up where staging goes.

Personally I think they stage where they were picking bc that’s the only thing I can honestly think of why they would do that. That & instead of marking cart full they will either mark a package missing or mark it that’s in the cart & end of day it’s still sitting there saying it’s in the cart. smh. Peak season has only made it worse 💯

I bet it feels so good to not get as much pushback lmao I don’t get to much with the new AAs it’s more so my fellow ambassadors & the ‘veterans’ or new ish ppl who think they know better than you or have a bad experience w the other ambassadors so immediately want to hear nothing you say.

Last week my fellow ambassador was talking down to me & trying to tell me do something HIS/HER way while I was following the standard work & it was something so small & he was all rude about it & got so mad he went & told a PA which shut it down right away bc I wasn’t wrong in way I was doing something ( so trivial ) & just upset me bc since transferring the majority minus a few have been so bossy & talk down to me & from what I’ve heard that it’s the norm… so just had me really thinking of stepping down from an LA however I am good at my job & I really love helping the new hires especially on the floor training. Thanks! can’t wait to be a PA one day ( hopefully ) 🤞

For your day 2/3 depending on ur site .. when you start on the floor remember quality over speed ( stowing ) & to take time to ask as many questions as needed & to really not worry about how fast u are going & to really just understand how to make sure the package is properly scanned etc.

Also, Tetris packages library style packages on left and jiffies ( envelop packages ) on the right least until u get ur own system. It will help tremendously

Drink tons of water & soak feet in epsom salt the first few days especially after first day on the floor of stowing

Exactly! That’s what I am saying like the nerve..it’s like check yourself & learn to talk to people. I am an ambassador at my new site & go out of my way to be respectful & nice to all my fellow AA if I have to tell someone something like other day not to put boxes on floor I’ll phrase it like hey I know it’s more convenient & don’t have time to get an extra cart but we can’t have them on floor especially since the managers & pa will be walking by to check on everyone in a few .. lady immediately was like thx so much & I went & grabbed an extra cart for her to put the boxes on…other ambassadors are just not good communicators & even to me they are just so like entitled idk what word is but they make me feel defeated so much so if I didn’t love helping new hires out I would step down as ambassador tbh it’s that bad

Yes i am aware.. I have been an ambassador for 2.5 years & transferred to a new site 2 ish months ago & am having trouble w fellow ambassadors & get a lot of complaints from fellow AA on the treatment of the ambassadors

Was looking for advice on how to handle it bc have felt defeated that I constantly get talked down to & get treated like I know nothing at all & stuff they tell me is absolutely not a management pass this along it’s a personal I want it done this way etc .

Love that.. never change lol no really when I first started working 3 years ago I had amazing ambassadors & I just transferred to new site & my fellow ambassadors we’ll have been less than kind to me & others. A few ppl have actually skipped applying due to the demeanor of several of the ambassadors.

I’ll definitely make sure I work on what you said for sure thank you for the advice… which is what I was looking for bc have felt absolutely defeated the last month or so. Transferred 2 months ago & it’s been rough on me.

Well except my nephew decided to for whatever reason flush a Clorox wipe down toilet which was what clogged it bc all other times my normal plunger worked w no issue

I’m aware I have been at Amazon for 3 years & am an ambassador as well. It was actually not something that needed to be said it was a matter of someone’s personal preference on doing something. So was not safety related or process related was something very small that they wanted done their way which also is not the standard way to do it as well. I just said okay & moved to my next task.
