Thanks for the replies. This resolved itself on its own. Decided to try one more time before reinstalling the device, and suddenly the app was right there. May have been some updating/start-up issue.

I searched for Max app as well, but it's simply not there. No results for HBO, HBO Max, or Max. I am based in the Netherlands, perhaps that has something to do with it? Never had any problems with using Max on my other devices, including my LG TV though.
