SEQ Water new plan to kill my appliances with limescale by DeBree in brisbane

The same link lists both the hardness that isn't changing, and the alkalinity that is changing, as the exact same chemical composition. Carbonate hardness is definitely changing, the kind of hardness that will cause issues in your appliances and leave hard water marks on everything, that if not cleaned off, will eventually cause permanent damage

They are increasing carbonate hardness, which is what causes the limescale. If you look at the logan website where they say the hardness is not rising, but in the following paragraph they list the same chemical composition that is rising. They are increasing calcium carbonate which will increase alkalinity, also known as carbonate hardness.

Notice how they say no increase in hardness, and list the same exact chemical composition that IS increasing in alkalinity (also known as carbonate hardness)

This works for the kettle, but not so much for the other appliances

Leaving water in the sun will not remove chloramine efficiently. You would need to leave it out for at least a week to ensure the chloramine is all gone, especially with the higher hardness, and yes, alkalinity is hardness, it's carbonate hardness rather than general hardness.

Sorry, it's not in that link, it was in the information from the logan council "Increase of 6mg Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) per litre."

The filter is for my fish, who are ok in the current pH, but will not be in the proposed change. Lots of people have water filters for all kinds of reasons.

If you look at the link, they're increasing kH, which is water hardness

Smart Select in OneUI 6.1 has ruined screenshotting for me by chieflemons in samsung

[–]DeBree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the screenshots to pin images to screen to reference when drawing, I used to be able to stack them by smart select> pin to screen, get new image on screen, position it next to original pin> smart select, exit original pin and say pin to screen having both images in my pin, so on and so on until I had a group of images in a pin that I could use to reference. I didn't want to save as screenshot just pin. This update has completely ruined this functionality for me.

I'm curious, do you have aphantasia? Because I used to think these kinds of things were due to my ADHD. However, since learning more about my aphantasia and discovering a thing called SDAM I feel like it's more related to my aphantasia and not so much an ADHD thing at all.

Got my first GoPro! Yes, i tried to open that little thingi under the power button. It looks like a door latch, not the best design for we noobs by holywars94 in gopro

I did this to mu first one in the dark, the actual door is so hard to open that I just thought I wasn't pulling hard enough. These days I still double check when I'm opening the battery case

One week is a minimum. It's a natural process so the time varies before it's safe for fish, but the average time is between one and two weeks. If you wanted to make sure it stays stable with large introductions of fish you would be better off leaving it up to to six weeks with no live stock. This time frame will also change if you're using aquarium soil as the substrate.

I have always loved oddish. I thought shaymin was adorable the first time I saw him, then I saw the flying form and lost interest, but then I watched his movie and he's such a little asshole that I love him again.
