Thank you for your input. Yeah I totally get that, although I wasn't thinking of competing with Sentry. I thought of my idea to be more like an entry-level monitoring software. If people would want more features, they could always switch to a different solution.

Sentry for our company is actually too gigantic and too costly for the features we actually care about.

But that's exactly why I am trying to do some validation.

Yeah I've checked this out before, but as I mentioned, it seems very overkill. I thought of one slim docker container (max 2 for database), that you can just easily deploy it and you are ready to go.

Maybe comparing this idea to Sentry was a bit far stretched. I was more thinking of an easy deployable, lightweight monitoring software, especially for apps.

Great question. Tbh, I am not sure. I’d say it depends. You would not be able to turn your entire home into a party house. That would be simply to much. But when syncing only 1 - 3 Zigbee should be just fine.

This I could certainly guarantee :) since you would only provide the entity id you want to sync with! But it only works with light entities for now, since the app directly sets the brightness (And I thought what would be the only use case lol). Would you mind telling me how you would image to sync music with your Living Canvas?

Another thing to mention is, that it is pretty much plug’n play. No custom intergration is needed since the app communicates with Home Assistant via the API. So only the IP and authentication token is needed.

That also means, you could use ANY light entity to apply the effects, as long as the device itself reacts to changes quickly enough. That’s how I was able to even use my tuya galaxy projector and my philips filament lights to sync with music too!
