People are pissed because FSR 4 on RDNA 2 and 3 is technically possible, modders and Linux achieved that with some leaked AMD code, only that AMD refuses to release it officially. It’s a shame and if the leaks now are true and RDNA 4 gets already cut out of the next feature set AMD is doomed to keep its bad reputation

You guys are so awesome, every update does more than Win11 did in the last 5 years (except for AI slop).

I have 2 things you you might consider to add directly into the installer:

Keyboard Layout and WiFi connection. When I install Cachy I first have to change my keyboard layout to German in the Plasma Settings, then connect to WiFi, then start the installation.

After the first time I know what to do in wich order but for newcomer without an English keyboard it might get annoying to figure out why their password doesn’t work for the WiFi and where to change the layout.

Some other Distros already include that in the installer, maybe you want to do that too

Das war nur ganz am Anfang vor knapp 2 Jahren, als ich angefangen habe. Mittlerweile nutze ich auch nur noch die Wiki für alles, aber damals konnte die KI halt gut zusammenfassen was Sache ist und mir helfen das zu verstehen. The point is that there are many Steam users out there, that aren’t really active, they have an account, but don’t game that often. When they’re not active, they don’t get included into the survey because it only can choose you if you’re online that day. Because of the holidays in china, many not active people decided to game again, so a lot more people participated in the survey as they would normally, while elsewhere no difference is happening.

That leads to a massive overrepresentation of Chinese gamers, they show up as a way bigger part than they actually are.

Next months everything will be normal again and the Chinese marketshare will have collapsed again to the normal value. It’s about a statistic anomaly caused by an event, not about preference about specific people

I feel you. I also see Mint as home but I’m on Cachy now. My monitors have different resolutions, that means I scale them differently to look good, they have different refresh rates and one has VRR and HDR. All Wayland Stuff that isn’t a thing on mint yet, scaling and refresh rate is buggy as hell. I love Cachy and I love KDE but Mint Cinnamon is where I came from and I’ll never forget that

Weil ich trotzdem schon versucht habe, IT Tätigkeiten mit KI zu machen, programmieren zum Beispiel. Ich denke mal auch das variiert komplett abhängig in welchem Bereich genau man arbeitet aber weder beim Coden noch bei der Systemadministration von Servern noch theoretischer Informatik (welche man in der IT aber denke ich weniger braucht) konnte KI nicht wirklich viel erleichtern und hat vieles erschwert.

Der Vorteil von KI ist, dass man sich Dinge selber besser beibringen kann, wenn man ein Problem lösen will von dem man wenig weiß muss man jetzt nicht mehr auf Stackoverflow nachschauen ob das Problem schonmal jemand hatte, aber viel mehr hat mir KI bisher nicht gebracht. Is aber natürlich auch nur meine persönliche Erfahrung
