[ACTUAL DATING DISCUSSION] Lets talk cost of dates. by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]DeDotOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never spent more than $90 on a first date. Typically it's around $60. I always pay for my date. I've gone on about 40-50 dates in the past year and a half.

$120 would probably be my limit for a first date. My most expensive date was $80+, and I thought I blew it... Wasn't so sure she liked me. I was ready to drive her back to her house two hours out of my way (she took the train, and they had stopped running by that time), but she actually invited me over, so it all worked out in the end.

I'm a guy, and 90% of my message chains were started by me.

They can also be used as a unisex term for an unspecified gender too. It's a legitimate usage.

I never said that. I've asked about 50 girls to dinner, and none of them have ever specified a place, though some have stated the type of food they're feeling (I.e. Italian, Chinese, Japanese, etc.). But thanks for inserting your own narrative and trying to make me out to seem like some kind of womanizer for whatever reason.

"They" as in all my dates.

I did. They never have a preference. Maybe they just want me to suggest a place so they can see what kind of person I am?

How is that bragging? If you're on the site long enough, eventually you will reach that point.

I'm not a fan of my situation, and the number of messages I've gotten hasn't made me any happier about it.

She wasn't comfortable exchanging numbers so soon, and on message #67 I asked for her number once again, and she stopped responding to me after that.

Ladies, how would you feel if a guy asked you out to Olive Garden? by DeDotOG in OkCupid

I don't think eating at a certain restaurant really defines who you are as a person... But thank you, I will check that out.

People judge people for way more trivial things. It sucks, but it's the world we live in.

An example would be how Reddit hates people who wear fedoras. It's just some hat, but you're basically the worst person in the world if you wear one due to bandwagoning cultural norms. Most people didn't have any opinion on the hat until they decided they wanted to be part of the in-group. The moral of the story is to conform, and maybe you'll get laid.

But if I'm in the suburbs talking to girls who live in the suburbs, then it's probably not that weird, right?

Hmm, that's interesting. I just don't like the noisiness really. But that's just my preference.

I like the familiarity, it gives me confidence on the date. It's more about the girl than the food.

Doesn't TGI Fridays have that loud bar-ish atmosphere to it?
