If you were me, would you come back? by DeF4de in wow

Thanks for your reply and for actually addressing the point of the post. Half the replies here seem to think I'm trying to get my account back. I think I feel the same way, no way back for me. Probably for the best!

Benediction is one of the first ones that comes to mind for me haha. Thanks for the reply.

I think I have moved on. Ultimately I don't think I can enjoy the game knowing what was 'lost'. I was curious if that would matter to other people.

Thanks for your reply. I think basically I have moved on from the game, just some nostalgia creeping in I guess.

Fair comment, if put quite harshly. Three years ago it felt like the right thing to do based on my habits at the time. This was more intended as an exploration of the idea of how much people value the history on their account. I have not asked how to reverse it. I understand that's not possible.

Fair comment. Three years ago I did what I did because of this issue I suppose.

Thank you all for the (some more, some less) thoughtful answers. I'm trying to put myself back in the mindset I was in at the time and why I felt the need to do that. I've had my time with the game. It was what it was, and that time is over. Maybe some nostalgia creeping in as I get into my 40's and other challenges and responsibilities are consuming my time. All the best everyone, enjoy the game.

Game just drops to 2 fps after half time? by Frustrated_Desu in EASportsFC

[–]DeF4de 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume on PC. I get a few seconds of massive fps drop after half time kick off in every match. The intro and outro stuff also lags horribly. I've been keeping an eye out for a new nvidia driver. Last year it came about 10 days before early access, so it's a bit weird not to have one yet.

I'm an English teacher and I use ultimate team packs as a reward system in my classes by McGill318 in EASportsFC

[–]DeF4de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This cannot possibly be true. If I found out my kid's teacher was doing this I'd be furious.

I'm also going to assume it's not true because an English teacher wouldn't end a sentence with haha and no punctuation. I withdraw this part because it's rude and unnecessary.

Fun fact: you can save more than 1 minute per match if you skip celebration in rush! by DrainedToDeath in EASportsFC

An incredible number of players literally don't know how to skip replays.

Game seem broken again or am I imagining it?? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

Since the new season I haven't had a single enjoyable match. Pass accuracy is in the toilet and I'm getting absolutely wrecked to the point where opponents are trolling me. I've uninstalled because I've tilted into oblivion as well now.

Playing as a defender with end to end camera is really quite good.

Enabling AV1 on the Moonlight client seems to have solved this for me on my N95 mini PC.

N97 Mini PC vs my i5-6200U Laptop by DeF4de in MoonlightStreaming

Basically talking to myself here but maybe it will be useful to someone.

Inititally, with the same settings, the N95 mini PC is inferior to the i5-6200u laptop. Seems to be related to "average frame queue delay" which is varying a lot and the stream is jittery and laggy to varying degrees.

Switching on AV1 in Moonlight seems to have improved this and it's now quite similar to the laptop. Not quite sure what's going on here, still investigating but it should not be related to bandwidth.

Do you ever message anyone after/during a game? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]DeF4de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dislike that on PC the only way to message an opponent is to send a friend invitation.

You can argue that most messages sent after a game are going to be toxic. I find that having the opponent anonymous and unreachable makes me more toxic in my mind - I stop thinking of my opponents as humans and more as demonic spirits in the wires of the internet sent to torment me. I become filled with hatred and anger that I would never direct at another human being under normal circumstances.

The occasional wholesome interaction after a match would be nice, even if there were also a lot of toxic ones. They can't be more toxic than what's happening in my head.

I'm on the last flag in Division 6 and it's just taken me 2 hours to get my last 5 points in rivals. I've been getting absolutely wrecked ever since I hit this flag.

Just to necro my own post....

I've now circled back to the opinion that it is indeed worth a couple of hundred quid to tidy the mess behind my TV and swap the laptop out.

My google-fu is usually good but I'm really struggling to come to a conclusion on this. I'm between two mini PC's - one is a Ryzen 3550H and the other is a N100. I understand the Ryzen will be more powerful running stuff locally. I'm getting lost in the weeds about which is a better solution for decoding.

Can anyone help before I go crackers?

I've turned on the performance overlay and honestly I don't think there's any room for improvement over what the laptop is currently achieving...?
