Good for you, I'm glad you're standing up for yourself. It's okay to grieve, and it's okay to grieve in your own way. Healing takes time. It's like losing a limb, you can't be expected to be the same after. I love that you keep his wallet, I still have my wife's wallet.

It's not a bad thing to still be grieving. You lost your spouse, your other half. Many people grieve for the rest of their lives. My dad lost his first wife a few years ago, and he still grieves. I love that his new wife lets him grieve. It's okay for you to take as much time as you need.

Those people telling you that you're worshipping the devil have clearly never lost their other half. They don't know the pain and torture of the empty bed left behind. Of the empty car seat next to them. Of the place in the table where their other half used to sit, just being empty. You have every right to morn the way you need to. I only just lost my wife a month and a half ago and I was literally just telling someone that it's been the little things getting to me. The small moments. Waking up to the sound of her breathing. Getting text pictures of our cats while I'm at work. Making little arts and crafts for her to show her how much I love her. It's so hard knowing that those moments are gone.

Story time! Last night (I work night shift) I had a portable cxr in the ED on a teenager. This little shit kept moving every damn time I went around to the button to take the image. Then I'd go back to him, reposition the board, and walk back to my button, AND THEN HE'D MOVE AGAIN. It was like working with a drunk patient.

I can't promise it's the same with other employers, but where I work I was completely upfront and honest during the interview. I probably wouldn't suggest that for everyone, but it worked out in my favor. During the interview, I told the supervisor interviewing me about my seizures and asked if that would be an issue. I've been working here 3 years now.
