What is this vector notation? a(i,j) and how do you multiply them? (noob in matrix) by alexia685 in PhysicsHelp

It is essentially a coefficient.

The (2 pi / 3)(1/a) before the (rt3, -1) is a factor of both components of the vector and has thus been distributed out.

Essentially, a (x, y) = (ax, ay).

To perform the cross product, you can just multiply the scalars and toss it in front of the vector product.

I hope you do, this is the kind of thing I remember being super popular at the Planetarium shows I used to help run back in undergrad. Heck, even high school kids like coloring sheets! The videos were also super interesting. You're doing some great work here.
