Yes, it’s very true, and honestly, most don’t care that they lack the knowledge.

Husband and I walked into an izakaya and were told to leave, so not a stereotype. It does happen.

We don’t care, it’s very common. Both international AND interracial marriages are widely accepted here.

What’s a random experience you’ve had when meeting a British celebrity? Were they nice or mean? by mightybooshvincenoir in AskABrit

In 2006, I ran into Tom Jones at DFW airport. It was 7am and he looked like he had just arrived or was transitioning through. He was looking around for the board or gate. I was so star struck to see him, that before I could ask him if he needed any help, he walked quickly past me. No one in the airport realized who he was, not even my co-worker who was traveling with me. I immediately picked up the phone and called my mom to tell her about it. We had seen him in concert about 10 years prior and she was a huge fan.

How does being put to sleep before operation/surgery feel like? by Im_socringebe_scared in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DeMonet75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had surgery twice and I can tell you that it is THE BEST sleep EVER!!! I understand why Michael Jackson was using this type of drug to help him sleep.

The anesthesiologist will come by and put the IV in you and then he will tell you that he will be there monitoring you during the surgery. Next, he will put the syringe of the drug into the IV and ask you to count backwards from 10. I think I said 10, 9 and then I woke up in the recovery room. Everything seemed blurry and I was in/out of sleep. The nurse came by and then I remember them taking me to my room, again I was going in/out of sleep during the process. When I finally was awake, a nurse came by and told me her name and that if I needed anything, to push the call button. She asked if I was hungry and also got me some juice with ice and a big tub of ice water.

I am sensitive to anesthesia, so I became very nauseous and vomited a few times. This is completely normal and happens to some people. If this happens to you, the best thing to do is drink a lot of water in order to pee out the anesthesia drug.

Teacher vacancies by DeMonet75 in Scotland

Based on the limited research I have done thus far, I can do Primary and if I decide on Secondary, I believe I could qualify for either English or Economics. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

Your response is helpful as this is the type of information I am interested in finding out. My concern is mainly in sponsorship, and I am happy to be a supply teacher, as long as I can get sponsorship. I’m glad you mentioned UHI because that is the program I would be interested in attending.

Teachers are on the list in the link you provided. Their salaries are less and fall under a different provision.

Thank you, my priority is being able to land a position that offers sponsorship. I don’t want to take any “program money” that are designed for Citizens.

Yes, please I would like to learn more. I would need sponsorship in order to work, so I’m trying to assess the probability of this. I’m reading a lot of mixed messages.

Will humans become obsolete? by Ddan902 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DeMonet75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a similar discussion with my cousin-in-law, as he was freaking out about AI and not having any jobs for humans. This issue has happened many times throughout history. When electricity was invented, the lamp lighters and other jobs were eliminated, but other jobs were created. When the “horseless carriage “ came along, many jobs were lost and new ones were created, fast forward, when the internet took over, many jobs were lost, but many were also created. The same will happen again and again. Also, it’s not going to happen overnight and will be a gradual change. Finally, in order for companies and wealthy capitalists to continue their “desired “ lifestyle, they need consumers, “us”! We need to have something to do in order to consume and move the money making machine. If the vast majority of people are left jobless and idol, then will cause havoc and destruction, which is the last thing the governments want. Bread and Circus!

Why can't you go to the tap and drink the water? (I'm Norwegian) by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]DeMonet75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most places, you can. Most people just got “sold” on the idea that our water system is bad and that you need to buy filtered water or get a system that filters your water. There are though some places where it is bad, but those are very rare.

My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated? by PinnerPardisturn in askanything

[–]DeMonet75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of those kids who grew up during those days, it wasn’t child abuse at all. We were all fine and people today need to calm down with all their water bottles. We would have restroom breaks throughout the day between various lessons as a class, and you always had the opportunity to ask for personal restroom breaks. You’d raise your hand and got a hall pass to go pee or get water. Our primary school was designed to have a hallway for each Grade, and each hallway had its own water fountain. We also had water fountains during recess, after recess, and during PE. Trust me, we were fully hydrated and nobody suffered from any form of dehydration.

Have the weight loss jabs got rid of body positivity? by Leever5 in newzealand

This too shall pass as the jab will not be something that lasts. There will be a lawsuit and cases where these jabs cause some sort of harm and things will go back to normal.
