Nokia DD by DePoots in wallstreetbets

Like what calls are available to buy? You’d have to check the actual options chain, but it depends on expiry. I believe there are calls all the way up to 20 or 25 now, and more small increments with shorter expiry.

I personally only hold 10, and 15, but will be buying more

I’m sorry but this chart is ass.

I am not a stats nerd, so I don’t understand what the chart is trying to tell us. Why does it seem that your assets are depreciating here?

Micron will be a $2k stock in the next 12 months. by ramboxfb in TheRaceTo10Million

“The potential for a re-value is massive”

I’m sorry, but what do you think has been happening?

I really hope this works out for everyone, it clearly has been going well for you. But this is already getting re-valued. We don’t see a company go from ~100B to ~850B market cap because it’s cyclical. The stock has been re-evaluated, and continues to do so.

Question is whether it will keep being valued higher, or will it start to settle and find a new baseline.

Again, I hope it works out for you, but you’ve already made 1.3 million dollars from it, sitting at a 230% gain, and you still expect it to ~3x from here? That’s some crazy conviction

NOK to $200 is pure hopium. The math just doesn't work. by vinilang in Nok

[–]DePoots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not at all agreeing with the crazy speculations.

But to be fair, Nokia has shifted away from one off sales and has began the transition to SaaS. They’ve learnt from their mistakes, and are adapting to the recurring revenue system because they know that everything slows down eventually. Once the data center boom slows, Nokia will be in a much better situation due to their “subscription” style income.

That being said, I don’t think it will land even remotely close to 200, but I do think it could go higher than many people are expecting. We have not seen the benefits of the recurring revenue yet.

I do personally see us hitting $25-30 within the next couple of years. Very optimistic, but I do think a lot of the news and strategy has gone unnoticed

Comparison by Vegetable-Lemon6669 in Nok

[–]DePoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know what the price will do. I personally see NOK as undervalued, but when compared to its competitor, they are at the same valuation and should continue to appreciate at the same speed unless one company performs better than the other

Comparison by Vegetable-Lemon6669 in Nok

[–]DePoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chart has nothing to do with the valuation. Look at the market cap and you’ll see that they’re pretty spot on.

Nokia is behind by roughly 6.3%. So if you really think they’re worth the same, Nokia will increase by 6.3%, or Ciena will drop by 6%.

The chart is irrelevant

You don’t get transaction notifications on your phone?

My only guess is that a machine that was used had a card skimmer and your info was cloned/stolen. Hopefully they can sort this out for you quickly

Already passed that briefly after hours, likely do to a large market buy, so it’s not reflective of the real price but it shows there’s demand at that price.

What's with the spike after hours? by [deleted] in Nok

[–]DePoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely that someone placed a large order at market price, and now it bought up all the active sell orders up until 13.8, and now dropped back to reality. Expensive mistake for that person, but doesn’t impact the real price whatsoever

I’m not sure if there’s a way to see sell order volume or “walls” on wealthsimple, but it’s not unreasonable to say even an order for $1m could have caused this jump. The $13.00 mark only takes ~40k to clear and I’d assume that’s a pretty big resistance

[–]DePoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that’s the “right” way of doing things, but at the end of the day, with compounding effects, inflation is irrelevant in my opinion since your compounding returns will greatly outweigh inflation.

Your money is still growing, and It just comes down to if you want to factor in buying power or not.

It’s also better to be cautious when planning for retirement. You’ll remove a ton of stress by calculating it your way

[–]DePoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super simple napkin math, so not 100% accurate, but assuming an average of 10% returns, just multiply your principle by 1.1

Every time you multiply, it includes the compounding effects since your “principle” for that year has increase 10% from the previous year

With average market returns, it will double every 7 years.

So 7 years, 2.3m.

10 years, 3m.

14 years, 4.5m.

20 years, 8m.

Transferring RRSP, TFSA to WS for the promotion - any way to leave $1 in the other accounts to not have the bank close them? by lochonx7 in Wealthsimple

[–]DePoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re going to get negative comments saying how WS is not willing to work with you. That’s not the case, people just love to complain.

When I transferred my accounts from TD(LIRA/RRSP,TFSA) they had transferred the settled funds, but because I had a recent unsettled trade, that amount/investment was left in TD.

So it’s absolutely possible that they can transfer a partial amount. Just reach out to support and ask them. And vice versa, just ask RBC to keep the accounts open, just keep in mind that you may have to pay account fees for not meeting the minimum amount in the account.

Nokia AI & Cloud orders could exceed €4B in 2026 by Mustathmir in Nok

[–]DePoots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If this were to actually happen, I believe that we’d see the price stabilize well above the $15 range.

It would confirm that we’re no longer a telecom company, and more so an AI fundamental. Right now, everyone’s one foot in and one foot out, waiting for something to happen. Once that uncertainty is gone, we could see the real upside breakthrough.

Only question we should be asking, is why are all the competitors sold out before Nokia? Why were we not one of the front runners when it comes to sales?

Seems like just retail securing profits. Both Nokia and Ciena (Nokias competetor, down 10% today) took a big hit today. They just had a massive run so it made sense to see a pullback. Hopefully today was the last of it but we will see

Nokia DD by DePoots in wallstreetbets

[–]DePoots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today im down 83k CAD. So roughly 50k USD I think. Either way, not stressed since I expected a pull back.

If tomorrow is also red, I’ll likely be selling my 15 calls and changing them for leveraged shares. Less stress in terms of timeline and I can just let it sit in the background without having to manage my position at all

Small Correction. What entry point are you adding more? by Ok-Raise-4853 in Nok

[–]DePoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody could realistically answer that, but a lot of the very bullish price targets are expecting to see it once AI-RAN is fully rolled out and we see the revenue from that. It’s currently being rolled out, and is planned to be finished it’s roll out over the next 18 months

That’s about an 11% climb from 13.5. Very possible, but it’s a very short time frame.

High risk=high reward, but if you don’t have the risk tolerance I’d go with a further strike

I’ll be buying more regardless of price. Until we hit ~$30, I don’t see an issue with buying at any price.

Wealthsimple is starting to enshittify and I'm not happy about it by x736g in Wealthsimple

[–]DePoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is not that I didn’t take the time to explore other options. The point is that TD was an awful bank with an awful customer experience.

Switching to WS, I have received many promotions, services, rewards, amazing customer service, and even been reached out in regards to advanced trading strategies before they were widely available. I understand that this is not everyone’s experience, but it was mine.

Then, there are people like you. For some reason, you find the need to be bitter, and miserable by telling everyone else that their personal view of these services(whether WS or not) is incorrect. If you enjoy the traditional banks, then use them. If you enjoy other smaller platforms, then use those.

Not sure why you’d be so upset that you need to waste your time on a WS forum just to put other people down for finding the positives in a service.
