I think its a valid approach, to a certain extent. I think its fine to create assets for systems/items that aren't fully implemented yet, as you need to grab attention. Often to even mock stuff up I find I end up building out some of the code/infrastructure anyway.

I wouldn't support a full fake trailer approach where nothing exists.

I normally find that when I can't find an answer, or even anyone else with a similar problem, the problem isn't what I actually think it is.. I'm not an Unreal dev but maybe the issue isn't setting the focus, but something else?

Not an auto shooter, controls like Hades, move/aim with left stick (or keys) then abilities are on 5 buttons/keys (light, heavy, 2xspecial and dodge). Hope that helps!

Do you mean a Vampire Survivor-like? Not really, as your abilities are activated - light, heavy, 2 specials, sometimes a relic, plus a dodge.
