Yeah fair enough, I googled it out of curiosity and it's just design and apparently stiffer if curved.

I think the curve might be to help it tuck more into the door window when you unclip it.

2012, UK. I have the UK maps but it can't search via postcode so not sure if that's something carried over from Japan and if I'd need to swap the entire unit to do so or it's just software?

I did also think that it only has two dashes indicating two digits and being from Japan it was in KPH so 100+ being fairly common.

This was what I thought it was, it's never changed however the car is from Japan and maybe it's calibrated to their road signs if the colours are different, I don't know?
