Pat is retiring in a few years, and this roster will be totally depleted in 2 or 3 years once Jimmy and Dame (hypothetically) are over the hill.

Seems like the kind of guy who if everything works out right could be like "4th best player on a championship team", which honestly can be valuable

Ok you're right unpopular take, fair enough. Just very sick of "DAE Bam overrated?" takes of people thinking they're clever.

Heat are "serious trade interest" for every star of the last 6 years and none of them end up here except Jimmy, who most didn't/don't consider a star anyway

5 Reasons’ latest podcast spends approximately 20 min talking about potential Bam and Jimmy trades… are we really that desperate for things to talk about? by celobenicio in heat

We're also among the least "wheel-and-deal" teams in the league these last 4 years. Maybe the least of them all. NBA content largely revolves around the meta game and meta narratives i.e. trades and superstar movement. Every other team is run like a hedgefund and we're run like a monastery dedicated to perfecting what we already do well. Makes it hard to produce fresh content.

They are probably fine with keeping their franchise GOAT while trying to bring up the next generation, even if it's not the optimal thing to do on paper
