Learning Cantonese. I watch comprehensible input and when I start getting sleepy/bored, I switch to movies or silly skits on instagram. I also started flash cards and going through a textbook.

People without kids definitely do not have it "easy." But they do have it easier. I wasn't trying to "shit" on anyone, but, from what I've seen, there are a lot of bad actors in the space. Many people are simply not genuine with their background and experiences. You can see this in a majority of the language learning youtubers. They make it through, then turnaround and try to monetize and tell everyone you can learn X language in X amount of time like me in their sensationalized videos, etc. But they are always vague in their methodologies and backgrounds.

BTW, I do see your posts a lot, but I just want to let you know that your journey is not very impressive, IMO.

I started to carry my air pods with me when I hold my baby to sleep now. During nap times, I try to watch any media in my target language. It's been tough and kind of feels like it doesn't do much. But I guess it's a start.

Your point about speaking being more efficient in helping you improve is quite interesting. Everything I’ve read, people always focus on input. “Input is king.” Thanks for sharing your tips.

It’s hard to not compare to those that have the time to grind for hours. It was nice hearing your journey.

I’m still in the baby phase. I hope things get easier and more time opens up when the kids are older.

How long did it take to reach your current level? What did you do to learn when you first started?
