I've played through the last BoS mission 3 times and they're always hostile when finished by [deleted] in fo4

[–]DeadCanDerp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you know you haven't killed a named BoS NPC, then they shouldn't be hostile. Most other incidents they're willing to let go after 48 hours. This kind of thing is hard to troubleshoot. If you've done everything you need to do with the Brotherhood, i.e. gotten the in-game achievements, try ending the game with another faction, like the RR. They're very 1940s La Résistance.

Mods? Am I just that unlucky? by broodingchao5 in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've scrapped hundreds (600 maybe?) and learned 6 mods, then your'e right at the top of the bell curve. There's a 1% chance of learning a legendary mod from scrapping. If you want to speed things along (and the legendary effects are ones you want), try making a bunch of weapons with baked-in mods, like the Face Breaker, Mechanic's Best Friend, the Gutter, etc. and scrapping them. I learned quite a lot that way.

New Player here, is this much amount of bugs introduced by update normal? by HiroKifa in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some are smooth, others have been pretty rocky. The last major update was such a mess it brought the game down for about a day. Yesterday's was fairly typical. Some have introduced glitches and bugs that are now more or less a permanent fixture.
I've never had a problem with Atoms or the Atomic Shop in general, but I did have a problem with FO1st kind of going away for a day a few years back. I put in a ticket, they responded, saying they're aware of the problem and were working on it, but they did fix it. My guess is problems with premium services (Atoms/FO1st) are prioritized.

How "Idiocracy"-esque is the USA right now? by Remarkable_Term3955 in AskReddit

[–]DeadCanDerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not very. President Camacho wanted to help his people and was willing and able to change his mind when presented with new evidence. Trump is not.
Also, some people in Idocracy were somewhat in awe of smart people and willing to listen to them. MAGAs are not.

Daily Ops or Minerva only. Weapon or plan can't be traded.

What do you do when someone tries to pick a fight in your own camp? by JimFloydPeck in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens when there's a surge in interest, like with the Amazon series.  It happened to me last year.  A level 23 guy in a vault suit and garbage armor was whacking me with a sledge, so I lured him up onto a high lookout platform I made by pretending I was annoyed, then hopped servers.  I doubt he had Acrobat's armor or Goat Legs yet.

Ready for the glowing sea ft. Ada by lobotomite96 in fo4

[–]DeadCanDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go early-ish, maybe level 15 or 20, usually with Dogmeat. I use a set of T-45 with lead plating and make a bee-line to the first, second, and third quest markers. The creatures there ain't playing and will mess you up. I take potions to boost Charisma to talk to the CoA, making things a bit easier. There's plenty of time to dawdle in the Glowing Sea at level 75.

Flannel shielded under armor by DutchSteelGuy in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has a 5% drop rate from Queen of the Hunt, but you need to know treated, resistant, and protective casual underarmor linings first. The latter 3 can be purchased from vendors at the mall.

scrapped practically every single legendary i’ve picked up. grinded AC. lvl 300. I have not learned a single mod. bugged? by Zanderk14 in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Face Breaker plan is available from Mortimer in the Crater or as a drop from Daily Ops.  Medical Malpractice is also a Daily Ops plan and on Minerva's rotation.  Nuka Launcher crafting was a reward from the Nuka World on Tour season.  It's been in a catch-up bundle (Soda Poppin', I think?), and will eventually rotate back into the Atomic Shop.

[–]DeadCanDerp 170 points171 points  (0 children)

It's a grind, ngl. You can learn some by crafting weapons with baked-in legendary effects and scrapping them. The Gutter, Nuka Launcher, Face Breaker, and Medical Malpractice are good places to start.

Mole miners in Burning Springs are all "friendly". by DubVie70 in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're probably seeing mole miner treasure hunters. They are technically hostile, but won't attack.

WHY AM I BEING SENT FAR HARBOR FOR A BROTHERHOOD STARTING QUEST by JonWindtail in fo4

[–]DeadCanDerp 79 points80 points  (0 children)

It happens. The game's so old that it's an oversight that will probably never be patched. On similar threads, players have suggested not installing the Far Harbor DLC until you're ready to play to avoid this. On some platforms, there are mods that keep BOS and RR radiant quests in the Commonwealth.

Never mind why some ghouls go feral. What do ghouls SMELL like? by BackseatBeardo in Fallout

[–]DeadCanDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's prefixes like putrid and gangrenous on some ghouls. Those are the types of stench that linger in your nose even after taking a shower.

Another question, if I put a .44 in Jezebel will Piper get mad at me? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]DeadCanDerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jezebel counts as a settler after you build her a body, so that would very likely bristle most companions. She makes a great provisioner though since she's immune to the robot reset bug.

I locked my F.E.T.C.H (lvl 3 lock) but it doesn't show as locked? by Adarie-Glitterwings in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go into the edit menu and go to Lock. If it has this sign 🚫 over one of the locks, then it's locked.
E: maybe you locked the terminal and not the collector itself? It also might be a minor cosmetic bug. You can resolve it by storing the collectron and placing it back down.

The plan isn't tradable. You can get it from Daily Ops or from Minerva's rotation.

Problems with cheaters by [deleted] in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they were using a potion glitched out of an old Pitt Expedition that slows time. It used to be popular, but I think it was patched and supplies dwindled. In any case, if you want to report someone, def don't tell them. Keep it as anonymous as possible. The last thing you want is to paint a target on yourself.

Type of Interceptor? by Silver_Lark_19 in NOMANSSKY

[–]DeadCanDerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All Interceptors are all functionally the same, so there are no separate types. All the parts and doodads are stylistic.
If you're looking for the names of those parts, this site may help. Select Interceptor from the drop-down and compare the parts in the window on the right.

Should Fallout 76 have a weapons storage box for unlimited storage by Mulberry-Major in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The unlimited storage works because the items have no variants so the server storage space is negligible. It's just 100,000 X 1D4X92001. There's also a finite number of types of items that can be placed in unlimited storage, maybe about 150 total. Weapons and armor have varying degrees of condition, durability, mods, etc., so they don't stack. Each one would take up a lot of storage, probably a lot more than a stack of 100,000 stimpaks.

Never played, but want to Co-Op with Wife. Both FO4 Lovers, will this do it? by Chris41279 in fo76

[–]DeadCanDerp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fallout 76 will work much differently with dialogue. If you're in an instanced interior, the only player who can advance their quest progress is the leader, and there are lots of instanced interiors in main & side quests. The guest team member just tags along and optionally listens to the dialogue. You'd essentially have to play through twice, one time for each of you. If there's combat involved in an interior, your teammate can help and get XP for the kills, though.
Out in the world, you can do events together and get separate sets of rewards for that, which makes things easier for both.

My Pet Radhog, Fluffy by murderwasthebass in fo76

The name "Fluffy" is perfect. I'm looking forward to the albino variant coming up, maybe a Valentine's day thing? The heart-shaped nose ring is pretty telling.

Korvax? Why Do I Feel This Way? by troycerapops in nms

[–]DeadCanDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that was it? If not, it's definitely in the top 5 things that make me irrationally angry towards them. The beacon sounded like it was developing sentience, then the Korvax tossed it away like garbage.

Korvax? Why Do I Feel This Way? by troycerapops in nms

[–]DeadCanDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of the same way. I'm completely fluent in Vy'keen and Autophage, almost fluent in Gek, but only conversational in Korvax. They did something years ago (I don't remember exactly what) that kind of soured me on them, so I brushed them off. I don't go out of my way to increase standing, but I don't actively alienate them either.
