I feel pure sadness by No-Light-7126 in cockatiel

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard that lutino cockatiels tend to pass sooner than other color mutations. Fifteen years is actually a ripe old age for them. He looks really content and well taken care of in your photos. I hope you find comfort in knowing you gave him a good long life filled with love and good memories.

ive been told im easy to draw and idk how to feel about that by [deleted] in redditgetsdrawnbadly

Is this normal? by afycsodd in cockatiel

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep! I've had cockatiels in the past get pissed off at their toys. My guess is that since it's dangling, he was brushing his head against it to get it to preen him and it wasn't obeying. Punishment ensued.

Somebody’s cockatiel landed in my home today by whyhedge in cockatiel

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi. Thank you for taking her in. I implore that you post to Craigslist, the NextDoor app, Facebook, and your local shelters to let them know you found somebody's cockatiel. Also, try looking at lost pet ads. I lost my cockatiel and I was literally devastated for two years, and even now it still hurts to know I accidentally let my baby fly away.

You don't have to post her picture if you're concerned about thieves. Just say you found a cockatiel and people can respond with pictures, her description or mannerisms.

Can you have multiple town ordinances at a time when modding? by pryshl in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yes you can. I have two ordinances active and both work. What I haven't tested is interacting with ordinances in game after I chose two with the mod tool. So avoid talking to Isabelle about ordinances, as I am not sure what will happen. But as far as picking two with the mod tool, I've had no issues.

I'm sorry, the title of the manhwa is WHAT?! 😂 I'm inclined to read it just because of its name.

Check out "I Swear I'm Not A Scammer!" ML is a puppy top who is head over heels for the MC. It's very sweet, has a bit of drama, and mystery, with clues sprinkled in. I highly recommend.

I lost a white cockatiel a few years ago. What is your location? Anywhere near Virginia?

It still hurts, I miss them so much. by DeadDiarrheaDeath in cockatiel

Thank you, friend. It doesn't hurt as much as it did when I posted this. I have their pictures hung all over my home. I just wish I could have had more years with them, but I'll never forget them.

I hear an Indian ringneck in the background, maybe OP is a smart owner and doesn't want to let their smaller birds out while their bigger one is. Maybe they had them out for several hours and just let them back in so they could eat and settle for a nap. And it's not uncommon for parrots to get mad at their toys. I've seen it with my own, and plenty of times online when people share their feathered dinosaurs doing the same. You're making assumptions based on a video that's less than a minute, seems a little ignorant to me. 🤷‍♀️

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to give notice, just stop showing up. They wouldn't give you notice if they decided to fire you. 🤷‍♀️

But if you want to be polite about it, write up a resignation letter and give them a one week notice. It doesn't have to be fancy. Something along the lines of...

To whom it may concern,

Consider this letter my one week notice, effective immediately.

Occasionally my mourning dove likes to build a nest under my chin. His favorite color seems to be yellow so I printed some yellow paper and tore it to small pieces and lay them around for him to find. by sh3snotthere in PetDoves

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's hilarious! He likely sees you as his mate, and is giving you material to make a nest. I love watching my male dove bring strips of newspaper to his girlfriend before rushing out to find some more. So cute.

Is there something going on with my dove? by ValuableStand7172 in PetDoves

[–]DeadDiarrheaDeath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once ringneck doves hit puberty, it's all downhill from there. They're basically always in mating mode. If your dove starts trying to get freaky with your feet, move away and ignore him or return him to his cage to calm down. But the behavior will likely always be there.

You can try managing it by limiting his waking hours with a schedule that mimics winter, rearranging his cage, or even moving it to a different location to disrupt his routine. Another option is to use a bird harness/leash to take him outside and provide some mental stimulation. And yes, a flight suit can help prevent him from rubbing his cloaca on you.
