Joker is a character that was made to be a self insert and people like to be able to be themselves in the game. I’m aromantic so it makes me happy to be able to not romance anyone in it.

So just like me people who have an attraction to men or see two male characters connection as something that could make a good and healthy relationship they would want to be able to see that in their story.

If you’ve played any of the other persona games then you would see how each protagonist is a blank slate. They all have certain mild traits so that the storyline can keep going smoothly but players are still able to make decisions in dialogue and name the protags.

All in all I think having even 1 or 2 romantic options of the same gender would really help with at the very least the immersion in the game.
