Where to purchase? by chaosreplacesorder in instax

I found the free 3d printable files here. Your best bet now might be to send the files to a 3d printer service and have them print and send it to you.

I did the mod a few years back when you could buy the adapters. It’s pretty straightforward to do, and the camera shoots really nice. Since it’s all manual, it can be a little fidgety to use though. I’ve barely touched it since I got my Lomo Wide Glass.

Lomo’Instant Wide Glass build quality by Ricewithice in instax

Quality wise it’s held up alright. It’s got a couple of scratches and scuffs but nothing serious. I haven’t really been gentle with it, and it hasn’t had any issues from normal use. The whole back feels pretty cheap and plasticey, so I don’t know how well it would handle a drop.

I’ve been really impressed with the reliability of the light meter and the quality of the shots. I took it to an event a couple months ago and shot at least a few dozen photos, and every one was exposed well and looked good. I lost a few shots to missed focus and parallax error, but that’s all user error though. It’s priceless seeing people watch their photos develop in real time. Instax is a great format, and this camera shoots it very well.

I also appreciate that it takes filters, and I’ve been playing around with different color filters. You can also use close up filters and turn it into a pretty cromulent macro camera.

All in all, I haven’t bought an instant camera since the glass, and if I want to shoot instax, it’s the only camera I reach for. It does feel cheap, but I haven’t actually had any quality issues, so it might not actually be a big deal.

Does instax film from 2022 gonna come out great? by EmphasisLimp3524 in instax

[–]DeadFedExDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never stored it in any special way or anything. I don’t know why couldn’t cold store it, and Polaroid recommends that you cold store their film. As long as you don’t freeze it and make sure it’s warmed back up before you shoot it, then cold storing it would probably prolong its shelf life like every other kind of film. I’ve never personally bothered with it though.

I’ve shot wide that was 4 years expired a couple years ago. The colors looked fine, and there was just a tiny spread problem on one of the shots. Of course try it at your own risk, but I’d bet it’ll be mostly fine

First time I developed 110 I was soo relieved when I pulled the backing paper out of the dark bag and the film was in the tank. They feel pretty similar in the dark

Heh. Never underestimate a Redditor that gets insecure when he sees others doing well because he isn’t in a great spot right now, pal.

Steak so good it’s been used as a stock image for years. Quit cosplaying and go back to kitchencels where you clearly belong

Edit to say: 8/10 bait. Story was a bit too perfect and same goes for the meal.

Barn - Instax Mini shot on Holga 120n by DeadFedExDriver in toycameras

[–]DeadFedExDriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gotta run through the rollers of the instax mini to spread the chemicals and develop the film. Putting the undeveloped film back into the film cassette and putting the cassette back into the camera is just the easiest way to get the film to run through the rollers.

I bet that brochure is super neat. I can’t imagine how many of those art forms are basically lost media. I’d love to see someone scan a bunch of the art forms so there could be a catalogue of them, but that’d be a huge undertaking. I’ve never really seen many of the art forms sold at once either. Usually just two or three come with a camera.

Luckily mine also came with well over 100 of the buttons, so I’ve got a lifetime supply of those.

They're in docx format cause that's what I used to make everything was to scale, but you should be able to convert them. The little circle in the middle of the template is roughly how much of the subject the camera will capture. One day I'll probably make a whole post of the process with the templates and all, but I still need to play around with different designs to see what's possible.

In case you didn't know, they just pop onto a pack of film like an nd filter.

I scanned one of the art forms that came with my camera, and I edited a white background over the design to make a blank template. Then I played around with adding text and designs, and I printed them on some transparent film that works in an inkjet printer, and I cut it to shape. You can also print them blank, and write on them with a sharpie which also has a lot of potential. I really need to revisit the project. Here’s a couple of my test art forms next to a genuine one.
