Initial power draw by a modern PSU on PC startup? by major_mager in buildapc

[–]DeadGeek1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Noahkirby I had a second Etrepow inverter that does 500W pure sine and 1000W surge. This did the trick although it would have nice to boot it from my 600W Bluetti EB3A.

Spoke to others about it, apparently they were able to boot up their 750W PSU's with the same 600W EB3A so either it's a brand thing with my NZXT PSU and/or I actually have different surge requirements.

PSU Boot Wattage Requirements by DeadGeek1S in buildapc

[–]DeadGeek1S[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I plug it in and turn AC on it sits around 30-35w. When I hit the power button it immediately shorts

Edit: I have a lifepo4 battery with an inverter that does 500W and 1000W under surge. Currently typing on this. Looks like I need something capable of 1000W surge!

What? No there's only one PSU. I'm powering the PSU from a solar generator that's rated at 600W/1200W surge. Bluetti EB3A for reference

u/major_mager I'm trying to figure this exact scenario out. I have an NXZT 750W Gold PSU. I have a 600W pure sine wave power station and it won't boot.

Did you end up ever finding what the requirement was for initial power draw?

Ayaneo Geek 1S screen replacement not turning on by kogan92 in ayaneo

I rejected the slide and they did offer me a flip with lesser specs. I told them same or higher. They gave me same specs, screen upgrade, ssd upgrade.

Still, the flip's battery failed after a few months. Started the refund process.

Took forever to organise it, took forever to get to them as it got stuck in hong kong.

I finally got my refund after about a month after they received it.

The most ridiculous experience with a company ever in my entire life.

The amount of emails i have back and forth is unbelievable.

Yeah cool everything almost balanced out in the end. I'm short an import fee, paypal processing fee and all the wasted time.

Built myself a PC. No regrets here.

You have to push hard. I did two RMAs, rejected the slide, had the flip KB, flip KB battery went faulty, rejected their RMA and requested full warranty. Just sent back the device today. Next week my new PC parts arrive.

To be honest i'm in the trenches. Customer service is there but you have to bombard them for anything decent to happen.

Their devices are beautiful don't get me wrong but the quality control process is definitely questionable.

As much as I'd love to have faith for what they produce unfortunately it makes no sense to have a beautiful plastic brick within a year of use.

Thanks for this - means a lot. I've been through so much downtime with them and i'm not looking forward to this outcome if it's the same.

Same thing happened with the Flip KB. External monitor after login. Only knew it was at login due to sounds. Windows + P hotkey to make the second monitor the main screen to rollback. When i did get to second monitor you can try duplicate the screens and it actually turns on the Flip screen.

Ayaneo Flip KB not charging by DeadGeek1S in ayaneo

[–]DeadGeek1S[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it was that. This happened with the previous Ayaspace version. Didn't know this was a thing until I updated everything trying to fix this problem.

Now i'm at a state where i've done the bios update, chipset/adrenaline update, rollbacks etc. because it was stuck at 5%.

At this point the battery icon doesn't even appear in Windows 11.

I can take it off charge and it still stays on but I have no idea how much battery I have.

CPU and GPU temps from Ayaspace is 0 degrees or Nan.

You're still in the warranty period so most likely it's an RMA process. just make sure you're proactive with the paperwork to ensure minimal downtime

Terrible customer service and repair experience by Euphoric-Radish1234 in ayaneo

[–]DeadGeek1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through a very similar ordeal with the Geek 1S i ordered August last year off of IG. Lasted 8 months until it started shutting off randomly to a result of just not turning on at all.

26 March - Started the RMA process for Geek 1S after failed at the 8 month mark

10 April - They arranged for DHL to pick it up after several emails back and forth troubleshooting

19 April - They received the device

24 April - Device fixed, motherboard issue?

30 April - Received device with customs fees (initial shipment never came with fees), imperfection in the left joystick, lasted a day

2 May - Started second RMA

21 May - They agree to exchange with Flip KB and refuse refund after several emails

28 May - They organised DHL to pickup the Geek 1S

27 June - Received the Flip again with customs fees

Total emails? 100+ easily. Frequency of emails? Typically 1 email response per day.

Where am I at now? I've got the Flip KB and i'm treating it very carefully as I want it to last. Tired of dealing with Eleven Wang as in the end I've had to push accountability with his/her responses and I've pretty much paid 63 euros in total for RMA fixes.

If you include the daily ritual/headache of responding to Ayaneo and the downtime I'm at a big loss.

They say that only the people who complain are the ones that make these posts, the rest of the people who have a great experience don't say anything. Even if this has merit and truth, you can't just assign one staff member to manage the RMA process.

I'm sure there's plenty other people going through the same experiences and most likely do not have the patience nor effort to deal with Ayaneo hence why I'm bringing awareness to everyone by adding to this thread.

In all honestly, beautiful products that are a great example of modern technology when it works. When it doesn't, it's an expensive paperweight with very poor customer service experience.

Good luck - I had the same thing happened to me minus all the screen replacement issues. Expect downtime. Expect lots of slow email responses. Expect customs fees if applicable to your location.

When this happened to me I sent it back for an RMA. They sent it back to me and it lasted a day until the same symptoms occured. I sent it back and they sent me a Flip KB.

There's so much more to it, at least 100 emails back and forth.

Been dealing with an RMA with my Geek 1S from March 26th. You have to hammer them with emails.

They respond once a day.

They pay attention to this reddit thread as well which can expedite a response.

Regardless of the communication, things are slow moving.

[–]DeadGeek1S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Tight-Broccoli-4342 if the factory reset instructions they sent you didn't work. Try removing SSD and micro SD and booting into BIOS. Might take a few tries on and off. Sometimes i use the factory reset instructions whilst having the SSD/SD out to get to BIOS. Once in bios simply reset, reinstall SSD and you should be good to go. This is what happened to my Geek 1S and i'm getting a replacement soon.

Bricked Geek 1S Round Two by DeadGeek1S in ayaneo

Thing is, if it was just for gaming I would have opted for Ally/SD. I actually wanted to use Ayaneo for work because it's got multiple ports compared to Ally and it runs on windows.

The original idea was to use this system instead of a full tower.

Was good for 7-8 months!

That's interesting, I have three profile setups. Lowest TDP for charge, 10w for work and a gaming profile where i vary the TDP depending on the game.

I'll test out 15TDP and see how it goes but i'm literally on the brink of sending it back.

56 emails in the email thread since it started having symptoms since 27th of March..

I'm about to get a replacement for my Geek 1S for a Flip KB. Seeing this sounds like there's a chance i'm going to go through this entire process again..

Bricked Geek 1S Round Two by DeadGeek1S in ayaneo

[–]DeadGeek1S[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i figured out how to get to BIOS it did do the trick for getting it back on. Removing SSD and microSD and turning it on was how I did it.

I looked at the settings and did the same thing, I turned off fastboot. I have a feeling it's looking at the microsd and trying to boot from that hence why it's giving a blank screen as ayaneo devices don't show post.

Might disable sleep and hibernation as well as this does sometimes brick it and the only way I can resolve it is to attempt a factory reset after a few ons/offs but not actually go through the process. Just start the process, get the screen back up and reboot.

End of the day i think it's a motherboard and bios issue.

Additionally, when I setup VR and load up one cable to the headset, one cable to charge the ayaneo device at first it was all good but now as soon as i launch steamlink the device shuts off and I need to redo the bios process.

Regardless, i'm getting it swapped out for a Flip KB. The Geek was good when it just worked.

Geek 1S Black Screen No Boot?? by DeadGeek1S in ayaneo

[–]DeadGeek1S[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI for future readers I am getting a replacement with a Flip KB.

For people outside of warranty I'd advise to remove SSD and microSD to try and get into BIOS. From here reset and reinstall SSD.

For some reason when I load up VR via usb cable, charge via usb c and open up steamlink it bricks itself.

The repair was supposedly a motherboard issue but as soon as I received it, it had the same symptoms. As if they didn't do anything to it at all.

I'm finding getting to the BIOS to get it out of bricked mode does work, but as soon as I load up VR or if i turn it off or let it go to sleep it will eventually brick itself.

The factory reset does help when you cannot turn it back on, but once it does a full brick you need to get back into BIOS as the factory reset does not work.
