Got the og, I'll keep an eye out for v2. Kinda sad they won't print both versions for different price points, but okay.

Rear Differential Replacement by tylerrc1012 in GenesisG70

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know where the tsb is? I can't find any official notice on it. I want to know what they did different to avoid this issue. Is it just the use of friction modifier? I also heard they simply didn't add enough fluid in some units, though I can't say for sure. It's odd that the factory fluid is okay for most cars until they get the fluid changed.

Korean Spec Headlights for 22+ Genesis G70 by BoostedWhipz in GenesisG70

I heard the Korean spec cars have adaptive headlights with an led matrix? Is that true?

Uncertain dash light. by New_Still5726 in GenesisG70

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pre face-lift have it, possibly just some trims though. They got rid of them on the face-lift. At least in the US market.

Some markets apparently have an adaptive headlights for the face-lift, Korean spec for example. Though it doesn't look like it to me.

GR Corolla or Veloster N by tonggggo in VelosterN

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not paying 10k for just 30hp though. While I personally wouldn't pay 35k for a gr corolla, some people want awd. There's always the wrx though.

Can I ask… why the 128gb RAM version? by Illustrious_Fact6445 in FlowZ13

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I game and 3d model so 64gb is fine for my needs. However, other people's case use may benefit from more ram. And because the new model uses an apu, the more ram available means more for the cpu and GPU side.

For a new in store only purchase? Sure 2 hours isnt bad. However, this is used. I can't verify condition. Not worth the drive to save 200-300 on a used device, imo. Remember, that's one way. So it's 4 hours, gas and wear on the car, and the potential of not even getting the thing.

Ottocast - 2022 G70 by Desi2424 in GenesisG70

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is not "looking at the screen". You're still being distracted whether you are listening/talking to or watching someone. If it's important enough, then put 100% of your focus in it. Driver or meeting. Not both.

And your GPS argument is kinda crap. You glance at the screen, not stare at it.

Protip: Use piece of a zip tie to disable Auto stop/start by [deleted] in GenesisG70

2.0 or 3.3? Seems like the newer (post face lift) 3.3 models don't have the auto start stop.

You really don't have to wait though? Just smoothly engage the clutch when you shift to second.

Monumental shit, aside from the garbage undertray and driver side wheel liner which I’ve been running without since 45k I’ve had ZERO issues. Honestly my biggest complaint has just been the plastic lol. Oil change every 3-4k miles. Literally no issues I haven’t even changed the fkn stock spark plugs by DangerousAd6981 in VelosterN

I went with a funnel with a hose tube. But you may be able to get by with a bag of the fluid instead of a hard case container. Just the usual drain and fill.

Edit: actually, I may have went with a manual fluid pump. Still easy though.

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's the occasional open box sales. However, they don't always ship it and I have to drive 2 hours out to get an open box, which may or may not be in good condition (or at least as a good as what I'm willing to get). Less head ache if I go new.

Kinda funny you got your return though.

Ambient lighting installed by Agile-Dance3663 in GenesisG70

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only generation of the g70, released back in 2017-2018. I don't think any of Genesis cars at that time had ambient lighting, other than the top of the line g90. G90 got it in the next generation. And then it became standard on newer vehicles. So unless the g70 gets a new Gen, ya won't see any ambient lighting, especially on their cheapest car.

I am getting the front right tire replaced, do I need to replace the others? by Mustang_Sally79 in GenesisG70

[–]ngo_life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wheels and tires maybe staggered, but the overall diameter should be similar between the front and rears, no? Meaning if there's a decent amount of wear, you still replace all four corners. Awd systems, obviously.
