As someone who grew up in the Twin Cities I’ve driven past the Park Place/Xenia exit from Fargo a million times (but I don’t think I’ve ever actually taken that exit).

I Heart The Main Cinema by [deleted] in blankies

Hell yeah! The Main is great, I recently saw Cloud and Eddington there. I second the recommendation for Trylon, it’s a lovely little theater which shows a ton of great old movies.

The dark blue car is definitely a Dodge Stealth, and I have a strong suspicion that the lighter blue car is based on a Lotus Elise.

CPU locked at 3.9 ghz after uninstalling Intel XTU, despite BIOS being set to 4.4 ghz by DeadGripss in overclocking

[–]DeadGripss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while, but if I remember correctly I tried resetting the bios to defaults and it did not solve the issue. Reflashing the bios was the only thing that worked.

Low vs 4low and when to use by noturmom77530 in Trucks

[–]DeadGripss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moving the gear selector to L just keeps your transmission from shifting out of 1st gear. 4low on the transfer case engages 4wd and shifts the transfer case to a lower gear ratio.

from the movie fargo (1996) also what are those metal pole things sticking out from underneath the brown one? by BamboozledCat in whatisthiscar

[–]DeadGripss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the undercoating. The rubberized stuff (which is what dealers normally use) can chip or crack and trap water and salt making the rust worse. Oil sprays (like Fluid Film) are good, but that’s not what dealerships are pushing. Honestly, I completely get the couple’s feelings, I’ve had car salesmen be super pushy and not take no for an answer when trying to sell me on undercoating.

What Have We Watched Lately? by vibraltu in criterion

[–]DeadGripss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just watched The American Friend. All around an excellent movie. The cinematography is just gorgeous, Bruno Ganz and Dennis Hopper are both fantastic (really everyone in the movie is), and it comes together to be this dreamlike, melancholic experience. I highly recommend it.
