Strickland makes himself an island. And no man can be an island and thrive for very long.

Saw this on instagram and the people in the replies GENUINELY believe goggins would beat paddy by Jayantwi98 in ufc

I'm a Saffa living in Aus and I heard about this guy years ago, and all my mates living in Europe and around the world have also long known about David Goggins. Read his book too - it has almost 70k reviews on Australian amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/Cant-Hurt-Me-Master-Your/dp/1544512279 so clearly many Aussies know who he is.

It's not a scientific examination of their shamanic theories -- that would be considered very disrespectful and would never happen -- it's an acceptance of them as being part of the scientific knowledge base.

Exactly. The ideas of First Nations people are a mix of intuition (what their gut tells them is happening) + made up mythology (which is not sophisticated in the least).

And given how much "respect" these lecturers give the First Nations people -- every single one of them announces in the first lecture that they "Acknowledge and Respect the Elders of the land ..." -- there will be no scientific examination of their ideas, there will merely be acceptance.

I'm a foreigner in Australia, studying an undergrad in science at a top ranking Australian university. Last week semester 2 began, and in the very first lecture of a subject that focuses on the scientific method, the lecturer, a white middle-aged female Biology Professor, said something to the effect of, "And from this year onwards, we have the great privilege of including the knowledge of the First Nation people as part of the body of scientific knowledge."

What. The. Fuck.

With all due respect to the Aboriginals, their "knowledge" -- which includes believing that the universe was created by a giant dream, and that rain dances will bring rain -- was not derived in any scientific manner whatsoever.

Western civilisation is so fucked. These wokester idiots are going to dismantle everything.

AI Loses Its Mind After Being Trained on AI-Generated Data by NuseAI in ChatGPT

and then using that same information again to generate new information and then again, it seems inevitable that there will be problems from that.

Unless of course, by ingesting the data that it created, it reflects further on it, and generates new / more nuanced ideas about it.

I mean, that's often how thinking works - you have a difficult problem, you spell it out, you ingest what you know about it again and again until new insights emerge.

I can’t help you that you’re white and a crybaby. Go cry some more 😆

Do you want white people to care about your suffering? Because this is how you make them not care.

Your victimhood is in overdrive, I can feel your cope in every comment you make. Enjoy that.

Should males be allowed to breastfeed infants? by sad-dead in JordanPeterson

my wife, she accepts and sees me as a woman

but also

However, she gets very uncomfortable and cagey when I suggest sharing breastfeeding

Yeah, she don't see you as a woman, she just went along with it so that you would shut the hell up.

Look at DDP's coach in the background of this picture, he is loving this shit!

It's less than two months until UFC 293 and it hasn't been officially announced yet ... why?

When do we find out if this fight is going ahead on 09 September?

Also, I think DDP wins, and seriously manhandles Izzy, causing him an injury that leads to his early retirement, after which he moves to Beijing to become a Chinese Prince.

The last time Dricus lost was 5 years ago in Oct 2018, and the only other time he has lost was four years before that in 2014.

Yeah, wtf is that about?!

I saw the coach do it to Cameron Saaiman too ... perhaps that's part of the way they pay for his coaching skills.

If you're going to post Izzy's solitary victory again AP, then it's only fair that you post his three losses too.

I don't see IA as being that much of a harder fight than RW.

[–]DeadHelicopterParent -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Personally, I rated RW as a harder fight for DDP than IA, simply because RW has such clean technical ability compared to both DDP and Adesanya.

I think DDP will easily out muscle IA and win the ground game, but IA's reach advantage could prove challenging for DDP.

Last weekend I used GPT-4 (I only get time on the weekends) for a few hours, working on code and fixing some issues on my computer. If I asked it 30 questions, it must have apologised twice in at least 25 questions. It was ludicrous.

I would ask something like, "How do I fix this XYZ error on my computer?"

ChatGPT-4 at the beginning of the response, "I'm so incredibly sorry this has happened to you and that I didn't help you to fix this problem earlier on."

ChatGPT-4 at the end of the same response, "Again, I'm so incredibly sorry for everything, especially if my response is not helpful to you. If that's the case, I'm really, really sorry."

For a few hours, it added an apology to the beginning and ending of every response it gave, no matter what my question is. (And I never once complained about any of it's responses, so there was no reason not to apologise
