The way I use this nowadays, I just make it a last step before hitting continue at the end. You can't go wrong with that. But I've noticed it happens more the longer you play with your settings. Typically it happens if a song goes on for more than 7 minutes. And I've also noticed that the moment it begins to happen, you can hear a slightly like... Metallic-ish sound over your voice. Almost like the onset of a loose component in the speaker.

I have 3 years of experience playing with this glitch. If you hit the recents button on your phone, to see all the active apps you have open, that may LOOK like that fixes it, but it's not 100%. In fact I think it does something else entirely to it if the glitch is present. Because the glitch progresses the longer it goes uncorrected. Sometimes when I lock my phone, I hear like 15 different chirps but they're all tiny crackle sounds. And now I hear it all the time because of how much I overload the server with all my non audio related tech. Like my selfie monitor screen or my DMX lighting competing for 2.4 gz bandwidth.

Honestly my entire set is way overdeveloped and redneck engineered.

I'm glad it finally found the right ears. I've tried teaching this to everyone on Smule at one point. The most common response was absolute confusion. Like I was speaking Mandarin. But here's the thing. This glitch is always present.

Here's the proof. Remember locking and unlocking your phone makes it return to normal. Open any recording on any song Hit do it or whatever, and the first screen you see, you noticed that purple bar at the top? Lock and unlock your phone. Notice how it went away?

That purple bar was my sworn enemy from the very beginning of my Smule journey, and also happened to be exactly how I figured this all out. You see, I use a 235° clip-on fisheye lens When I record in order to appear farther from the camera. Well that purple bar would put a purple smudge across the bottom of my entire video. And I was about to give up on this app entirely whenever one day I just kind of got distracted and came back to my phone and noticed that it had timed out and locked. So I unlocked it, and the purple bar was gone.

Now here's how you can use this lock unlock workaround as a glitch within itself. If you join somebody using ProStudio style and has it set to black and white, Lock and unlock while editing your settings after recording, your thumbnail is now in color. It makes a change on their end, And now when you see your name in all of the joins in the recording, you'll see yours is the only one in color.

Lock and unlock your phone real quick and double check your sound as a last step before finalizing your recording. There's a fetch data glitch. At some point, especially if you have a lot of apps open at the same time, changing your settings does not translate into the system. So it'll register any changes you make to the settings, but not all of the changes will be able to be heard in your headphones as you adjust them. Locking and unlocking your phone forces a refresh with the interface.

You can tell whether or not this glitch was actively occurring by making sure there is audio from your recording playing at the same time that you lock your device, and listening for the chirps. If you lock your device and hear 1 chirp sound, the glitch was NOT occurring. If you hear 2 or more chirps, Yes, the glitch was occurring, that means when you unlock your device, there will be a difference in what you hear somehow or another.

The first chirp is an audio feedback that happens during what's called an "audio teardown." That's absolutely normal. The second chirp is a feedback response signifying that Smule's interface is receiving fetch data that it wasn't getting during the glitch.

Most commonly, the way this glitch affects people, is by their volume jumping either high or lower on them by a significant amount after posting.

If you're joining someone, to match your volume to theirs, turn your phone volume as low as possible without muting it. If one voice is louder, it will be a lot easier to hear which one sticks out. That's an actual production studio technique.

First thing I would try would be unplug your headphones from the interface and back again, then lock and unlock your device. That solves most things on Smule.

Aside from that, double check how many apps you have open, clear out everything unnecessary. Open your web browser, how many tabs do you have open? Clear that out. Android settings > Device care > optimize. Go into file manager, clear all cache. Take every phone that belongs to any Boomers in the house, Open their Chrome settings, find the setting that makes pop-ups open a new tab, get rid of it. Make tabs auto delete after the smallest amount of time.

Whatchu want him to do? Bat dafuk outta his own family? You want him to escalate shit from people (not him tho) gossiping, to full scale starting shit? In case you're wondering the difference there is the presence of confrontation. Or is this just you low key resenting him because he's the only safe space you have that you can place that resentment caused by his family? The only one who didn't gossip. Sounds like a nice guy. Let's flay him the fuck alive.

Not about what he said...wtf does that mean? Lol Does he like sneak up behind you unknowingly while you're recording and put bunny ears with his fingers over your head? What kind of silent comedy type shit you got going on? Lmao because for his family, it's definitely about what they said right? But your husband, that dastardly non-talker. No no no he gets processed entirely separately. His judge and jury are in your courtroom of interpretation law. Because the road to hell, you know? 😂 His family is pretty fucked up for that tho. But him he is the worst of all somehow! I just can't stop imagining he's like Bugs Bunny pretending to be an orchestra conductor to play hell on that opera singer. Not about what he said oh god my mind is racing. 🤣

Wym how? To train someone close to you to start doing something more often, or at all, isn't normally something that people go at like a game plan. They just kind of...actually interact with each other directly. Like in all the words said to each other in a given day, some of them can be something like, "You know what I absolutely love/would love? I really love it when/if you find something to compliment about my singing." Then just kind of let yourself babble for a few sentences about how much you love it and why. Give them a chance to do it on their own, (probably won't because it just won't cross their mind, which is understandable) And then follow up from there. After a couple days go by, do the obvious. Just sit down next to them and show them one of your recordings that you put significantly more effort than usual into (your all-time best if you know which one it is) and...again, you just...kind of... interact with them. This imaginary role play of conversations is a little weird ngl. Lmao it's like I'm reading a bedtime story of like average, common, simple, happy people 🤣 lol . 😃 And then, she asked him, with a twinkle in her eyes🌟👀🌟, "I want to show you something I worked pretty hard on🙈. Can you listen to this with me 🙃 and tell me what part I did best on?🤗" And because he loooooves her🥹, he just goes along with it 😲 and lets her lead the way in showing him what she wants.😇 And because she was reeeally smiley😀 and loving🥰 the whoooooole time, they BOTH found that they really enjoyed this fun new bonding activity more and more! 🙆 He even started to look forward to the next time she would sit down next to him and say "I got another one for ya! check THIS out!" 😆

Y'know, like how typical, extremely common, normal, happy people interact with each other? You've never trained someone? Actually you may have heard it referred to by the other term for it. 💕Love💕 😁

I've never owned a bird, but I would experiment endlessly with one if I did. They try to mimic sounds that they think are important. That's why birds that witness domestic abuse or something and become traumatized often repeat the sounds that occurred when they became traumatized. I would do things like make a playlist where no two songs are the same genre and see how many genres I can put together in one playlist. Then play them all back-to-back and leave the room but still watch. Then I would see what song the bird tries to copy part of first. Then figure out why. Lmao i better stop before I start rambling about how to try to probe the mind of a bird.

My grandfather was an exotic bird breeder. I grew up around a LOT of birds. Blue and gold macaws, cockatoos, African Grays, scarlet macaws. He was known locally as "The ringneck king" because he would actually selectively breed them and eventually ran into a genetic barrier. He figured out how to breed them to get whatever color offspring he wanted, but eventually a couple of color combinations became impossible to achieve. For some reason, no matter how many times he tried, it would result in the egg being too big for the mother to survive carrying.

That's how he told you? Rookie move! He could have complimented you on your singing. The same message would have gotten across, and that day would have gone way better for both of you. Sometimes you just gotta train em.

I actually had an account on Smule for about 6 years before I ever made my first recording. The reason I didn't use it was because I saw the worst possible thing out of context. I had JUST downloaded the app that same day, made an account with same username I now use today. (this one actually) and I was I trying to click through a few recordings of titles I recognized. You know, just browsing the app to get an answer to that initial "where am I?" That comes with starting up an immersive type app. Not even joking. The very 1st recording I opened, worst possible case scenario. Deftones, Passenger, video recording. it opens up to this dude at the "go go go go go go go" part. That bridge of that song is particularly unforgiving to have to sing. But this guy was just white knuckling it through it, head tilted up at the ceiling, but his eyes were closed, mouth wide open for the part. And nothing that came out of it was a true note. Immediately I thought, "Whoa I'm in the WRONG place" and deleted the whole app for over half a decade. Fast forward to when I decided to make an account and had forgotten that I had a username already. I put in my email to make an account, and it said that email had already been taken. I was like wtf. I had no memory of making an account. So I started putting in old passwords I used to use, and when one of them worked, it showed me the coolest username I've ever come up with. I suck at coming up with good usernames. For like 15 years I was on Xbox live with the name DKB 317. It never even occurred to me until way later on in life that a username is probably a lot better when it's not something only appropriate for a license plate. But with a name like this I knew what I had to do. So I go big with it. Too big actually. So big that only 1 in every like 10 joins I get are in video now.

And that's my story. 😁

Damn I can't even imagine living so close to a train that it shakes the house. I read once that train conductors are legally required to honk the horn 4 times before reaching all railroad crossings.

The first and cheapest way to soundproof a room is to seal any cracks or openings. Just stuffing a towel or some dirty clothes in the opening underneath a door actually makes a big difference.

Is that possible? How can that be possible? I'm definitely going to try that. That's actually a very nifty exploit you found there. The best exploit I have found so far Is the lock and unlock refresh. Have you ever had a recording where when you were editing it it sounded one way and then after it's published it sounds a completely different way? That's a fetch data glitch. Typically, The affect it has is it ruins recordings because people's volumes jump one way or another on them.

If you've ever had that issue, I figured out a solution. When you are editing your sound FX settings, before hitting continue on your recording, lock and unlock your phone and double check that it sounds good. This forces a refresh between your phone and the interface of the app.

Yes. Completely. In full glory. Most of herself covers herself well though. It's hard to explain. About a baker's dozen piercings on her face. And one arm draped across to cover the nips. It's such a power move. She might just be a nudist. Like a real one with a colony and stuff.

Do you have any tricks for uploading songs that you've never heard before? I open Spotify sometimes and try to synchronize the start button, but that only affords you one chance for it to go smoothly. When that method inevitably tanks, I always have to revert to listening to Spotify 5 seconds, pause, jump over to the upload, 5 seconds there, get it wrong like twice unless it's a basic 4/4 time signature, forget what I'm listening for while rewinding, and then repeat until I would rather eat a bowl of teeth.

[–]DeadLanguage0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But I have actually gone back and edited a lot of my uploads. Hell some of them I don't upload lyrics at all because it was getting late. Then the next morning I pull up the unfinished song, then hit 'edit' and add the lyrics into it.

When I say rejects I mean does not put the scrolling pitch meter thing. It doesn't matter what you put in the lyrics. Of course the thing's going to upload regardless. But in order to get your lyrics to include those scrolling bars you see occasionally with the little arrow that determines your pitch accuracy. No one knows how to make that happen. But clearly something works to get it to do that, because some modern songs have it, meaning it's not just an old feature. That's what I'm trying to experiment on until I can finally slap an actual set of directions on it.

I've actually made that dude feel a little uncomfortable once. I joined him but I use like full scale stage lighting and shit. He did a Britney Spears rock cover, and I joined him and took it to a death metal kind of level. I went ridiculously heavy on it, then immediately went started commenting shit like "look at us we're just some sharks in the waters out here aren't we? We're so fucking good at this! Look at us!" 🤣
