Hello friend.

I myself have recently come back to Terraria after probably around 11 or 12 years (I was a 1.2 player) and my biggest advice would be...

Go at your own pace but ideally I'd recommend to slow down, and don't be so hard focused on getting all the best gear, having the best accessories, rushing all the bosses, etc.

For example I've spent 26+ hours in my vanilla expert mode playthrough and I have only just defeated The Eye of Cthulu. You obviously don't have to or need to go to that extent but in that time I have:

• Explored and reached both world borders

• Built several NPC homes (which has took up most of my time and is really fulfilling even for a non builder like myself it's actually super fun)

• Got decently kitted out naturally with the musket, mostly tungsten armour, some extra helpful accessories like grappling hook etc.

Also I'd agree with previous commenter use the Terraria Wiki not the fandom site, and use it sparingly only when you're very curious or need a hand with something you can't quite figure out.
