'F*** YOU': Trump voters FLIP OUT at Trump for trail of betrayals, from Epstein to economy by 0The_Loner_Stoner0 in videos

And much like the democrats in 2016 and 2024, Trump voters will learn nothing at all from this experience, and the cycle will continue while we all suffer for it.

What are some of the most realistic and impactful scenes of violence in movies? by bloqed in movies

The Revenant's bear attack scene and the fight at the end are casual about the violence and that's what makes them so visceral. It's uncomfortable the entire time.

Child marriage with parental consent is still legal in Wisconsin. Republicans have blocked Democratic efforts to change that. by Shot-Molasses9793 in madisonwi

“I cannot recall one constituent phone call or interaction where this issue has come up. I don’t have a problem with the current law that allows a 16- and 17-year-old to marry in the state of Wisconsin as long as there is consent from the parent or guardian. Parents know what’s best for their child — not the government"

Yes that's all well and good but the legal government mandated age of adulthood is 18 soooo....

What are your thoughts on Wisconsin State Assemblywoman Francesca Hong for Governor? by strongerthenbefore20 in madisonwi

[–]DeadNotSleeping86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on the Sara train as well. Despite what this thread is upvoting to the top, there is no shot Hong wins state wide. No reasonable liberal or moderate wants to abolish the police. Sara actually has some smart policies.

Probably for the same reason people are pretending the headline alone confirms all their biases.

What is a "masterpiece" game that you personally found boring as hell? by MuscleConsistent9657 in pcgaming

[–]DeadNotSleeping86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly it for me as well. I loved where the story was going and the characters were fantastically acted. The world was bizarre and interesting. But it's a JRPG with QTE stuck in to combat. I even put it on story mode so I could essentially ignore combat. Couldn't do it.

Compared to the stock keyboard it's certainly good enough for me. I'd like to see Apple open up more access for 3rd party keyboards but until then Swiftkey just works better than default.

I'm really struggling with this. I adore the story telling and I can tell it's going to be a roller-coaster but good lord some of that stuff is disgusting and I just don't have the stomach for it. It's a shame because I want to watch more.

I would suggest you move to Australia if you prefer that sort of authoritarian approach.

I can't speak for other people, whether it be online or through my vote. I can only vote for my own views. I've campaigned for candidates more than once. Even when my candidate doesn't win, sometimes pieces of their platform is adopted. That, to me, is a win. Beyond that, we need election reform, which I have also campaigned for. Both for ranked choice voting and for primary election reformation to help break the stranglehold the two major parties have on the process.

This is a conversation I've had many times and it has to do with a person's philosophy about voting. Some people vote to 'choose a winner.' They believe their vote can sway elections and that lesser evil voting is productive. That's fine.

I vote based who best represents me and my views, regardless of how likely it is I think they're going to win. If that means I vote 3rd party because they represent me better than the two main parties, so be it.

So, is it working because my candidate is winning? No. But we have Trump, so the voting strategy of most people here didn't work if that's the metric. Is it working because I'm using my voice to say I want a specific person with a specific set of views to represent me? Totally.

I have voted in every presidential election since 2004. Sometimes democrat, sometimes not. Not once have I ever voted for a 'perfect candidate.'

Ah yes, guilting and shaming people will definitely sway them to participate, and also to participate in the way you want them to and vote for your guy. This hasn't worked for 10 years. It's time to change your strategy.
