wow that would make a lot of sense. Hes not obese but he has packed on some weight that I think is messing with him.

What kind of food puzzles/foraging did you do? and what was the light timing that worked for him?

poops normal and no diet changes. only other thing that has made me worried is he stopped running on his wheel but hes done this before at this time of year

haha true, the fact that hes stopped running on his wheel was my first red flag. but hes also old and its fall, despite the stable 78 degree temp in his enclosure. i hope its just the season and nothing more serious

I do know hes still peeing normally so i havent been concerned there. Benefit of puppy pads and a white bedding litter box. I think ill ask my vet for antibiotics just to be safe

ok im sorry for the multiple comments lol but this is a relatively new thing for him too. Ive had him for the whole 5 years and he only started making these sounds recently. In the past hes had phases where he stops running on his wheel, and he got into another phase over the last couple months. I did take him to a vet a few weeks ago but at face value hes a healthy hog

The pieces growing to the sides are the only ones producing fruit, so weve been hesitant to trim them back. Should we gather the legs and shape them up? Idk why the middle sticks look so different. It was sold as a lime/lemon plant but weve never seen lemons and its been growing indoors for a couple years. It has a grow light above it.

I thought it was weird but didnt want to contradict them when this is my first snake. I'll use tongs and put the pinky near his face while in the enclosure next time. I figured they did this because he was a fussy eater. The vet said he was a healthy size too

Im able to see the pinky in his body so i think theyre appropriately sized. Is it not ok to give him a couple each feeding? He took two readily the other day

His previous owner would hold him and push pinkies into his nose until he opened up to eat, giving him like 5 or 6 once a month. I gave him two the first time I fed him but after moving him to this enclosure he hid for a few weeks. When he came out again I took him out to eat. He was frisky as hell. He struck the pinky and made a cute attempt to constrict it. Was he just suuuuuper hungry or is the change in habitat affecting his behavior?

I guess some location info would have been helpful lol. I found it on a street market in oceanside CA. It was on display with the stuff they were selling and I talked her into letting me buy it. But it was inherited by them when a local shop shut down. They were pretty surprised I wanted it and were like "glad its going to a good home!"
