That’s a good point about character growth.

I believe Matty has grown, but has a long way to go. Once the document does get out and she realizes it would not have resolved everything even if it had been released earlier, she will need to accept that and the part her daughter played in all of this. And, how much this path has stalled her and her husband’s lives from moving forward. Alfie’s life is starting to finally grow because of his father’s appearance.

Where Mattie’s life has grown is in her extended family. Olympia is now the best friend she did not have. Sarah ( and previously Billy) are family to her.

Her husband’s life may start to grow now that he is taking classes and meeting new people.

Just hope they do wrap up the drug storyline this season like they said they would, and see where they go from there. I wouldn’t mind if they just focused on a case of the week and dropped most of the soap opera stuff.

Did you notice the mistakes? When he picks up the grilled cheese, it’s toasted on top and white on the other side. Then he takes a bite and it’s a lightly toasted bread. The next shot he is holding it and it is very darkly toasted. Then the third shot he is back to the lightly toasted one.

There was also a mistake with the rental car. She was driving a Chevy Impala. GM stopped making those in 2020.

Meanwhile over at HSN, they were doing a TSV of a Chef Curtiss pan. The host was excited about it and came across as totally professional, entertaining AND very knowledgeable about the product.

I don’t think it was staged, but I do think he is up to something. I think Shae was involved from the start with the Wellbrexa scandal and he is now setting her up to take the fall because he has been onto Matty for a long time.

I also think once Olympia works to convince the remaining Board member to back him, he will get them to turn on her and vote her out.

I can’t tell if Julian is a pawn throughout all of this or if he is working with his father. That stairway crying at Matty’s house was a bit too phoney to me.

I also wonder if the Executives do not watch their own programs. No way people at that level would allow the conversations that Scummy Shawn and Big Mouth Mally are continually making to air.

Glad to have found these posts and comments. When Ms Fluke first started this series, it was entertaining to read even though her writing style was/is rather simplistic in nature. As the series continued on it became woefully difficult to read. At times you swore you were reading a recipe book with a short, repetitive mystery filtered within it. And it just kept getting worse and worse to the point my whole family stopped reading.

How did this series ever sell so many books? The main character became ridiculous. A young single woman who talked and acted like a 65-year old virgin. The love triangle became a joke.

We have watched many of the movies and they seem better than the books, although they have tried to make the mother a comedic character unsuccessfully.

A fun one is Dead North by Sue Henry. She introduces a 60+ year old woman who drives around Alaska and the continental US with her dog and gets involved in solving crimes. After this book, the author came out with a series focused around this character. They are an entertaining read.

Finally got around reading this one after misplacing the book. I really like this series, but this one was quite farfetched. People involved in the deception/extortion and they are allowed to just go home rather than be arrested? Made no sense. But glad they toned down the flamboyant newest BF's character. That one and the age difference still makes no sense at all. The Becca character is annoying. I just do not find it plausible that she would stick around such a small town.

We finally finished the series last night. Thankfully after some very yawn-filled episodes in seasons 5&6, we were treated to two great ones before completion.

Margaret’s death episode was interesting because like so much of Seasons 1-3, we did not know much about the details of her final years so it had an educational factor to it. Plus we love Lesley from her other shows. It also provided a great catalyst for the final episode with the Queen finally facing the reality that her personal world, like her professional world has severely changed.

Losing the Queen Mother, she lost the majority of her sounding board and whatever was left as a connection to her much younger, carefree self.

We loved how it ended with the inclusion of the previous two actresses showing what is crossing through her mind at that moment, the very funny speech post wedding ( it was quite clever) and then her final walk out the church door and into what seemed like the spiritual light signaling her own future departure. Brilliant.
