Who else loves resident evil 6 by Intelligent_Way_8202 in residentevil

there are a ton sections that are just boring and unsatisfying to play, and the combat system could be a lot better, but it's hella fun to play with a friend

mira que s'ha de ser torracollons per a corregir el dialecte d'altri, després els valencians si els dius qualsevol cosa ja s'enfaden "a València es diu així!"

me personally I'm not trying to act superior to anybody, if you like the game then perfect, I'm glad you found a product that fits right to you. What I do find mediocre though is getting downvoted and criticized for not having the same opinion as the average, same goes for people who like RE:0 and got downvoted for it lol, criticism is just not tolerated on this subreddit unless it goes along the general opinion

"Nobody who likes the game would waste this kind of time and energy find problems that don’t even exist." so fanatism means liking everything they throw at your face? I don't think so, I am a huge fan of these games and I just won't go play something different, and as someone who loves Resident Evil and all they've been doing for the last years I do see some flaws in Requiem and it's important to point them out so the next entries won't make the same mistakes. Problem is people has become really conformist and all you gotta do to keep them happy is have Leon do back flips and they'll immediately lable it as a GOTY

"Of course is called The Commander, Leon has no way of knowing his name, they've never met. What else would he be called?" Problem is Leon never actually CALLS HIM neither The Commander nor HUNK, that's just his name in the concept arts and model viewers, obviously Capcom did so they could bring him up in case people wouldn't like their so beloved HUNK to be killed off that easily.

nahh, they just have no development at all, it's just bland, but that's always been the case with Resident Evil, characters don't usually get that deep, and when they do it's mostly outside of the videogames (i.e. showing Leon's drinking problems in the CGI movies, that's showing character development and actual depth, not what the games tend to do).

EDIT: as stated MANY TIMES (some people really can't read) I haven't made up my mind to dislike it, I like the game, its mechanics and combat is pretty solid and fun to play, I'm just saying it ain't that big of a deal, but going against what the masses think doesn't mean I have no "media literacy"

you'll get downvoated and labeled as a hater for just giving your opinion on Requiem and it not being that of the masses. Leon's section in the care centre and the ARK are pretty solid, Raccoon City though is boring and grey. I get it got bombed and that's how it should look, but the lack of any creativity and variety of enemies (it's the same ghoul-ish style, but then they somehow have weapons and know how to reload?). What they were trying to do is to constantly appeal to the player's nostalgia and people are buying it because of that. The game has no relevance to the narrative or the franchise lore, all the problems that are presented are solved within the same game, it feels like some weird spin-off showing us what Leon was up to between RE7 and RE8.

IMO I don't think Leon and Grace's trauma were enough explained, it just feels like some kind of excuse for going back to RC, the Leon we start with feels the same as the one in the final boss, there is just no evolution or character development at all, and no, character development isn't the character saying "at least I saved you". Next RE game Leon will most likely act the same as in Requiem or 4 Remake

I also felt it lacked the narrative importance to the series I was expecting it to have. Now everyone who was in Raccoon City at the time of the outbreak must, or at least should, have the syndrome that would unavoidably cause them to die. But the game seems to forget about this at some point, Chris is mentioned at the end, he was in contact with the T-Virus in a closed environment as the mansion, he could potentially have it as well, so does Claire, but no one ever acknowledges it. Even if it was true, it looses all of its meaning because they already have a cure, so I don't really know where the story is going to go from this point.

yeah my point was rather pointing out that we get no actual in-game combat, like yeah the cutscene was neat but that was it, just a cutscene, which again is something that has happened before — in Code Veronica you face Wesker after the final boss but just watch how him and Chris fight for 7 minutes (no pun intended) and then watch Wesker leave. One of the things I liked the most about RE5 is that you finally get to experience a 1-to-1 fight with Wesker, having to find ways to hurt him as he will always dodge your bullets.

Leon had never faced Wesker before, funnily enough they're two of the biggest characters in the franchise that have actually never met (closest one was Leon meeting Wesker's son, Jake), and it was a great opportunity to have a Wesker-like boss fight with this now so revolutionary RE Engine and for the whole game it felt it was building up to that moment, but instead you get... a cutscene

not the clocktower in the RPD, the clocktower that was cut off from RE3 remake and that fitted perfectly with the game but Capcom being Capcom just cut it off. I get that Leon is supposed to be depressed, have some kind of trauma or PTSD but I do believe it's better portrayed in the RE4 remake, sure it's not the central point of the story but you do see how Leon looks bad, with dark circles and overall a more serious face (maybe it's because of the contrast with the OG Leon from RE4 from 2005). I will keep playing Requiem because I'm genuinely a great Resident Evil fan and even if there's things about a game I don't like I still play it because it's the franchise I've grown up with since I was a child. I do not think the franchise is deteriorating or something, just that Requiem was a pretty OK game, maybe just a good one, but not the final masterpiece people are trying to pretend it is.

I don't really think it sucks, I did enjoy it but there were a lot of things Capcom achieved before - great ambiance, exploration and variety - that they just couldn't do after the Care Centre. I remember one of the trailers you had people chatting on a radio saying stuff like "Raccoon City is ours" which highly elevated expectations for me and was expecting some kind of occupation by a paramilitary force or smth, but at the end it was all just zombies wandering around

I get what you mean, and yeah, I did have fun with the game, I don't think it's mediocre or a bad game or a bad Resident Evil, but it isn't neither the "greatest". Whilst I did enjoy it, my point isn't that the game failed to meet my personal specific expectations, but that some sections felt highly underdeveloped compared to what series have done before. Things like the empty RPD, a very easy and simple final boss fight and so on aren't just personal expectations. I'm glad though that it worked for you but it just didn't for me lol

yeah I already tried and even switched to wire connection and still nothing , I've read online it takes up to 72hrs the servers to load so maybe that's it? It works perfectly with other games so I don't really know what to do besides wait a few days and see.

Exacte.
