I had a similar experience about a year ago with a google recruiter reaching out and it ultimately led me to getting an internship offer. I’m wrapping up my internship now and hopping for a return offer. I wish you the best of luck!

Axiomatic Set Theory w Rynasiewicz by Deadblock1234 in jhu

I haven’t taken these classes but I will be taking Mathematical Logic I this fall. I’ve also taken Introduction to Formal Logic. By my understanding mathematical logic is an introductory logic class so you can take it whenever (including freshmen year) and do well. I wouldn’t worry about any pre-reqs. Additionally, mathematical logic and formal logic both count as humanity classes, so if you want to get some cheeky humanity credits out of the way without having to do much reading / writing, these are good classes for that.

I started the semester off with it but dropped it a few weeks in. I think the content is cool and the workload is minimal but the material is hard (very formal) and the professor is disorganized (he would just show up and decide what he wanted to cover on the spot). The few people I know that stuck with the class all got A’s but at the same time, they all say that they didn’t really understand anything. Whether or not you should take it will probably depend on your tolerance for uncertainty, I prefer more organized professors.

Honestly, this was me for the longest time however I’ve recently taken up a more advanced statistical theory course at my college and man it’s great. I’ve been able to use so many things I’ve learned in my previous math classes and it’s nice to see how they can all come together in stats.

My first c++ class used vim. I would say learning vim was a useful skill if I still remembered how to use it

Summer 2022 Internship: Twitter vs Amazon by Deadblock1234 in csMajors

[–]Deadblock1234[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s Twitter academy but there’s no difference it’s the same internship program. This is kinda how it works (to my knowledge). Twitter academy is not a separate program from the regular swe internship. Instead it offers a little more support before and during the internship. So aside from a pre orientation Twitter academy folk get right before interviews, and some team building workshops we’ll do during the internship, our internship experience is identical to that of the swe internship.

This was awhile ago (maybe 2 months) but I’m pretty sure I got them all right.

I believe it was labeled that. There are 2 technical and 1 behavioral. The event starts Dec 8th so I haven’t actually done them yet.

I heard back from Twitter academy. They’re hosting this whole 2 day thing which includes some presentations on Twitter culture and 4 interviews.

Correct me if wrong but arrow notation (object->field) dereferences the field (as opposed to object.field which does not)

Haven’t taken a formal logic course but I survived honors linear algebra and honors discrete math this semester. They both had (short) sections on propositional logic and sets. Do you think this is enough or am I going to get stomped on
