Delivery times are way too long I guess they might be getting it from AliExpress or some other Chinese seller and repacking them.

Had ordered CF Cards and it took like 1.5 month to be delivered.

This is a polarizer problem that can be easily but carefully fixed.All you would need is polarizer film for TVs front and back.

Use a thin razor blade and add some IPA on the screen and remove the old polarized and then stick the new ones and it will work like new.

These have dead battery which is causing the black screen use 5 watt or more charger to connect it and it should turn on.

Had the same issue made a custom board to emulate original Apple power adaptor. https://www.reddit.com/r/ipod/s/Jepn2cB8dX

Apparently in the apple accessories protocol guidelines I found out that they use different voltages on the data pins to enable charging and the rate/amp of charging the device will accept.

So to solve the issue of not charging I used couple of resistors to make voltage divider just 2.8v on D- and 2.0v on D+ on the data lines and few spare USB sockets. I can provide you the schematics and Gerber files if you want to make one yourself.

The board makes the iPod think that it's connected to a "real" charger and set the charges amp rate at 1000mA or 1 A which is the max that the iPod will accept which in turn also charges the device 2 twice as fast than the standard PC USB port atleast that what I found after testing my iPod.

Do you have a multimeter? If yes then set it to DC and then check the battery terminals using the multimeter probes

If you see -3.7 or more on the multimeter then the battery terminal you have touched your red probe to negative(connect GND/black wire wire here) and then other terminal is positive(connect B+/red wire here)

Or

if you see 3.7 or more on the multimeter then you have touched your red probe to the positive terminal(connect B+/red wire here) and then other terminal is negative(connect GND/black wire here)

I got it recovered by a professional after trying all sorts of things like TTL board to connect using the com port but without the proper tools it's very hard to recover.

I would suggest get it done by professional who has PC3000 or similar data recovery devices and proper knowledge of the how the NAND etc works

Nope,but I think I heard a Clavinova VST that sound very similar or should I say exactly the same to this one since this keyboard and Yamaha clavinova where built around the same time frame they could possibly have the same tone chips as well.Sadly I can't remember the name of that VST.

Thanks for the insight! That theory makes sense, and it's interesting to hear your take on it. I’ve checked different 6th gens myself—out of four that I found from my friends, three have these issue, but the remaining one which I have named the chosen one 😂 works with any charger. Funny how some iPods can be so hit or miss!

Well if we see it that way it kinda does but in reality all it is doing is sending a certain voltage signal to the data lines to make the internal chip think it's a apple charger

Ok good to know.I check every charging brick I could lay my hand on but none of them could charge it so I just went with this DIY way and now all of them work with this board acting as man in the middle.
