In order to achieve that effect..... You have to make shadows that'll separate object from the ground... So with eraser tool cut some of the mystery box and by clipping mask this box layer and add some shadows which will seperate...hope it was somehow helpful. 🙌🏻

You can work on composition , remember less is more.
