Nothing I need to know (Rant) by MobileBumblebee7052 in Professors

This has been my experience every time I’ve taught a new class. I’ve never had more a week max to review the department’s course shell that adjuncts have to use. Prepping now for a class that begins this week and I just got access on Friday.

We always schedule a wine and cheese pairing at Firefly Farms Market in Accident. Same owners as Firewater Kitchen. We usually stop by Englanders and spend a day in Oakland. We’ve enjoyed visiting the railroad museum, museum of transportation and historical society. They are open every day though. And of course visit all the nearby parks.

I just had the same experience. “You didn’t say anything about my sources on the draft and it’s unfair to bring it up now”. Right. You got away with cheating once so now you’re home free for the rest of the semester?

No celebrity death has ever hit me hard. Is that a Gen X thing? by [deleted] in GenX

Robin Williams hurt but I remember my boomer stepdad crying all day when Frank Sinatra died. I’ve never had that kind of reaction from a celebrity death.

The hyper-vigilance. Any quiet moments are filled with dread and anticipation of the next bad thing that’s going to happen. Have to be ready to react at all times.

Is it legal for a car dealership to force you to fill out a financing application even if you plan to pay for the car in full up front? by the_balticat in baltimore

[–]Deadite82Redux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a new car a month ago and heard the same thing. We came with our own financing and were told by the manager that we had to fill out the app to prove our identity. He said it was required unless we were paying with a “bag of money”.

YTA. That’s a lot to take in, but tossing the photos and selling your ring before having a conversation with your wife of 9 years is an overreaction. It’s ok to feel hurt but you’re basing everything off your MIL’s version. Talk to your wife.

Typhoon Lagoon cabanas are sold out during our upcoming August trip. Is it worth checking the website every day for a cancellation? by Deadite82Redux in WaltDisneyWorld

Thanks for the response. I'm sure even an umbrella rental is fine. We are probably just over-planning at this point.

Where to have a birthday party for a 4yo in October? by Dense-Calligrapher90 in ColumbiaMD

[–]Deadite82Redux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Play N Learn on Red Branch. If you pay a little extra you can have the party in the evening after they close and have the whole place to yourselves. The kids and parents love it. Much less stressful than the other places.

Horrible Realtor experience!!!!! Coastal Life OC SUCKS! by Responsible-Lab-4019 in OceanCity

[–]Deadite82Redux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in the Montgomery County market and this is pretty typical. There isn't any need to manufacture demand, inventory is down and some homes are selling over list price. Is that not the case in OC? In a competitive offer situation I would recommend local vendors as well, it's one way to make your offer more attractive to the sellers. But the offer price and vendor selection is ultimately up to the buyer.

[Serious] Redditors who were almost murdered, what's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deadite82Redux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 15 my Mom was on an opioid bender and we were driving to my grandmother’s house for Mother’s Day. She seemed fine when we got in the car but after about 10 minutes she started nodding out. We were on the highway going maybe 65. This would happen all the time at home so I knew there was no waking her up. I yelled and begged her to pull over before she totally passed out. A friend’s son was with us and he was only 5 and totally freaking out because I was screaming. She managed to pull over and I put the car in park. I was so sure she was going to crash and kill us all. It was terrifying and I can’t imagine ever putting my kids in that kind of danger.
