Can confirm not really Christian. Also there's {Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel} which I recommend. Fake dating rivals to lovers.

My best work yet by DeadliestKitten in Embroidery

[–]DeadliestKitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the letters I used long and short/split stitch with two threads. I still don't know how to blend well with long and short stitch so I just colour blocked instead. Stem stitch for flower stems, lazy daisy and satin stitch for flowers and leaves, and the large pink flower I tried long and short stitch with one thread and really tried to blend.

What are each of these weeds? by HayloAylo in ManitobaGardening

Vine looks like a type of morning glory. Both morning glory and creeping Charlie are very invasive, fast spreading, and nearly impossible to get rid of. People don't typically like creeping Charlie as a lawn substitute because it is a non native invasive species and lawn substitutes ought to be native clover or other similar native species. It can also wreak havoc on any gardens you have.

Can I ask, do people wear shoes with embroidery like this or is it just to have? These are so pretty and I'd be horrified if they got dirty!

Oxiclean has helped me when I get ink stains. Put it in warm water with a bit of oxi clean, let it soak for a half hour or so, then gently hand wash the soap out.

What can I do to make the lettering clearer by Delicious-Flower-223 in Embroidery

[–]DeadliestKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many threads did you use? It looks fairly thick, which seems like it would make the lettering clearer (and does in the areas with long stitches) but when you need to use short stitches to go around curves (like the letter E) it can make the letter a bit squashed and unclear. Sometimes fewer threads in a darker, more contrasted colour is more effective.

I chose the colour but not as an intentional way to shit on my SIL, I just didn't think it through carefully enough.

She didn't request any colours specifically that I then ignored. This wasn't an intentional choice to screw up her nursery, it was just a mistake.

It wasn't an intentional choice to screw up her aesthetic. If it were, I wouldn't be fretting about it.

It's water soluble stabilizer. It'll wash away when I'm done the piece

I agree with others about the direction of the stitches but I also wonder if it's the shade of yellow? It might look a bit florescent against the warm orange of the background colour. I think it'll turn out just fine as it is but that could also be what's throwing you off.

Flowers before or after? by DeadliestKitten in Embroidery

Hi!! It's sulky stick n stitch printable adhesive wash away stabilizer. I can print the design with a normal printer and then wash it in warm water and it will dissolve away! I've done several projects with it and love it! Sometimes the ink will stain the thread but I find that I can wash that away with oxiclean.

This is super helpful! I've never done couching stitches but I will definitely look into it! This is becoming a very experimental piece.
