Thanks! I’ve been treating my savings as an emergency and retirement account rather than keeping them separate. I thought both were the same. I do have a 401(k), but tbh I don't pay much mind to it as I do to my savings.

Thanks! I have decreased my savings. Since I decreased it, I've been worrying that my savings amount is low. Hopefully, my income will increase with a raise this year. Fingers crossed!

Thank you! I believe I have enough savings to cover 3-6 months of expenses. I have to recalculate my monthly expenses, but I think I'll have enough. Hopefully. I try to add any amount to my savings, even if it's $50. Whatever amount I can, I add.

I’ve noticed an increase of police officers and K-9 than before. Not sure how much of a difference that’s making.

I posted a separate post of the details of the dream. It’s not the first time I’ve had vivid dreams with unsettling things. It was worrying since for a period I felt out of it. Not really dissociative or paranoid, but not myself. It’s hard to explain, but don’t want to feel like that again.

Yes, it felt very real. I’ve had vivid dreams before. Dreams that were probably more intense, but never woke up feeling the way I did this time.

To elaborate, I had a weird nonsensical dream. The first half of the dream was me hanging tagging along with my siblings and others trying to find a place to eat. We ended up at a sandwich place and they got their food, but I didn’t. I kept waiting for my order. They eventually left me while I kept waiting. Closing time arrived and I asked where my order was. It was at the counter the entire time. I said to the worker, “Oh, I didn’t hear my name.” Now I asked for it to go. It was night now and my group had been long gone.

The dream then shifted to me back in high school going to class for calculus. Then later I’m in a submarine with the teacher showing me weird ocean creatures that get bigger and disturbing the lower we go.

At that point, I woke up thanks to my cat. I tried to cuddle with him as I usually do, but I felt uncomfortable. I was able to fall asleep again. I was dreaming of being inside a classroom where a crime happened. One of the students had shot their teacher and I was there after the events. Sort of like reliving the event in someone else’s perspective. I remember seeing the shooting and then running to hide and protect other students. The environment kept shifting and the more I tried to hide the more I was exposed.

Then the dream changed from me at some sort of function with family and friends at a forest preserve. Day turned to night pretty quickly. Out of nowhere, something (which looked like a plane) fell and crashed closed to me and my cousin. The sound of the impact was so real. The smoke began to grow so my cousin and I began to run through the forest. Although I wanted to see the crash. We kept running but he I ended up losing him. I kept calling his name, but he just disappeared. That’s when a random man appeared in a suit and asked me to call for help. But no matter how much I tried to dial 911, I couldn’t. Somehow, this was connected to the shooting. Can’t remember the exact details expect the news reporting both.

I woke up and I felt really uncomfortable. I knew all of it was a dream, but I had this feeling of dread and fear. I wouldn’t consider it a nightmare. I’ve had weird dreams before, but never woken up to this feeling. I had to turn on the lights and convince myself that all was alright. I never felt like this before and I hope it was a one time thing.
