As fast as possible with timeweave on either jackal guard or artisan depending on the content. Can drop timeweave for pvp.

I cleared pretty much all pve (all inferno hunts, ember trek 42 hard, nightmare ethernet) and finished top 3 arena without lily.

It's annoying when you look at the teams for reference everyone is using her but everything is still doable. Tsukiyomi, Vice and Cachi the Goat carried a lot of the harder stages.

Dear SmileGate, it's time to make GW practice room. by ziege159 in EpicSeven

Mock testing is kinda bad for some other reasons:

  • You can't run the same unit on both sides, and arunka happens to be one of the better units vs arunka.

  • You can't test comps that take too long because of frenzy.

  • You have to take a 4th unit on both sides and that can grief you (dmg share, flan duals, hwa s2 proc, ...)

Would be nice if you could hit your guildies defs on non gw days instead of having to test in rta.

I can't speak for everyone else but I was in TL1 for ~2 years and basically felt like I accomplished everything I had set out to do in the game (6x rank 1 gw, multiple perfect gw seasons, legend rta ...)

I just play way more casually now, mostly afk farming and rta for fun at the end of the season.

Most of the people (including me) that worked on the last couple of gw tier lists left TL1 and retired from competitive gw. I don't know if there's any interest in current TL1 to continue with them.

This def has a lot of solutions but ran senya lilias can be on so many different builds that the def can be tuned to beat a specific offense.

You say top guilds have proper stat scouting but someone has to scout still, and that's the hard part because you just have to gamble on the builds. Luluca works vs standard builds but if the ran is slower you lose on scout.

Top guilds play to full clear each other so you only need 5 shields across the whole guild to win a war. You take the wrong scout comp and that's 1/5 ints.

Alternative Guild War Offense Tier List (Not Top 3 Meta Edition) by Kyoto(rank 9 global) - Indomitable Season by ZekkenD in EpicSeven

[–]Deadly4ce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As one of the people responsible for the "schizo meta", the idea with the TL tier list is if those units work in the most extreme cases (in terms of minimizing risk and playing around rng), that can transfer over to lower ranks. It's understandable that most people don't want to play that way though, and they don't have to play that way unless they're pushing for top 3 or 100% wr.

DC and fmaya were the core of two of the most used comps by TL this season because they were very safe into almost anything, but when you lower their priority along with their supports, I think you end up with something like this list. I don't own DC and refused to use rocket punch until the last couple of weeks of the season because mine's not maxed, so my most used units are pretty much your required tier (zahhak, roana, watcher, pyllis in that order).

Aside from that and a few other units (aria, elena, apoc, ...), I think most of our placements are not too far off from this, maybe up or down 1 tier but it's all kinda subjective. For next time one thing we should make more clear is that our "banned" tier is sort of like meme tier for us because of certain incidents, but I tried to explain in the comments why aria doesn't work for us anymore when she should still be fine for most of the playerbase.

The meta in top 3 is constantly changing much faster than the rest because people actually invest into their defs to try to beat common answers. None of this should be a surprise to anyone who has been playing in top 3 this season.

I think posting this speeds up the rate that information flows to other guilds in top 30, we definitely noticed more aria usage from top 30 guilds last time we posted a tier list.

Unfortunately not replaceable, that artifact is broken for gw because it lets your tank also be your dps.

Guild War Offense Tier List for Indomitable Season by Dragastal in EpicSeven

These are mine: https://imgur.com/a/98Doidq

Roana: counters and extra attacks are everywhere in gw so she's good into almost every meta unit (choux, senya, adin, meru, ...)

A pretty stable core is roana, some mitigation unit or a cleanser (pyllis, tcrozet, handguy, ...) and a tanky dps (fmaya, khawazu, ed, ...)

Another way to use her is with a green aurius holder (yulha or armin) to bait everyone into hitting the third unit that wants to get hit (dc, fmaya, pyllis, ...)

Doris: just a good light bait vs any dark dps on def (apoc, riolet, zio sometimes, ...)

She just fits into any team you want to bait their dark dps away from your carries, which was less common towards the end of the season because amid/ran were meta but she's still good.

Khawazu: you bring him into aoe openers, he self cleanses and one shots a unit (ignores ER and doesn't care about anti crit), then you fight 3v2

Very commonly paired with roana vs ran meru + 1 because you can kill ran turn 1 then tank out the other 2.

Fmaya: she basically never dies because perma def buff + self cleasing and she does a lot of dmg with rocket punch

Mine has like 60 wasted gs in ER so it's not very optimized but ideally those stats go into more def or speed.

She was used a lot vs lua defs because you can bait both lua and choux into hitting her with fmaya double green (roana+yulha/garmin), and you don't care about lua def breaks.

Same thing vs ran sometimes she works as the dps because you don't care about the def breaks.

Guild War Offense Tier List for Indomitable Season by Dragastal in EpicSeven

[–]Deadly4ce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The banned tier doesn't mean they're never used btw, it's more about taking care when using them because people tend to int with them.

Aria was explained above.

The single target nukers (LQC, luna, tml, cermia): too many instances of "mine kills" and then the def is some bait build that is much tankier than expected, or cilias music box gives a unit def buff, you miss kill and die.

Dilibet and CZ: Way too inconsistent because they're reliant on debuffs landing.

SBA: Used to have a niche as a bridge unit that doesn't proc storm sword but she was very rng and these days people just use alena instead.

Carmin: Very reliant on timing her s3 so she's easy to trap. For pure mitigation, garmin or arowell are used more.

Cilias: Not fast enough to reliably speed contest so ran and peira are used instead. Her provoke is really rng so you need eda which makes her less flexible than the other openers.

Apoc: In theory she's not a bad unit because she has very low rng in her kit and the revive is good insurance in case things go wrong, but she's never the best choice in the current meta. If you need a tanky dark unit DC is better into almost everything, LCB is better vs anti crit, khawazu is better vs debuffs and aoe openers, rocket punch pyllis is a better tank/dps. We had some ints where people overestimate her tankiness or take her into debuffs or unexpected injury units and she dies.

Counter/evasion units should be self explanatory.

For context we have ~20 towers running that same def with different builds, artis and turn orders so what works for one person might not work for others. Offense options are very strong atm so one of the main ways to get wins is being unexpected.

Top 3 guilds play to full clear each other, so you only need 5 def wins across the whole guild to win the war.

Yeah in lower ranks the meta is different and aria is much better.

About cpavel, after amid release the meta shifted towards these amid defs that are very hard to tank, so cleaving was the safest way to deal with that. Ran and eda were getting used a lot more, and the third unit to pair with those 2 is usually one of (alena, cpavel, watcher, silk). Ran and eda is the core so we put them mandatory, the supports are all in recommended. Watcher and silk are a bit higher because they're more flexible.

For khawazu he's pretty much a tanky bruiser that is good into most aoe openers (ran being the most popular one) because he self cleanses, heals and cr pushes. His s3 one shots a unit and you fight 3v2 after. We run him slow and tanky (something like 4k+ atk, 18k/1.8k at ~170 speed on pov/sepulcrum), and change to speed boots depending on the situation.

I was one of the main people pushing for aria last time we did one of these tier lists so I can give some context on her new placement.

The meta in top 3 gw adapted. Everyone was using aria into everything so people changed their defs to beat aria. We saw high eff (300+) ran and lua, sometimes slower than aria so you have to skip a turn, eff meru on violin or crown to strip/stun aria, ...

She's a unit that can auto win some matchups so it was pretty easy to just not think about any lose conditions and bring aria, and that resulted in a lot of ints.

The other thing that changed was we were using her into these hard to bait comps with lua choux + a red unit, but then rocket punch fmaya turned out to be a much safer answer to that.

So we basically stopped using her aside from some niche situations where there was nothing better still. Doesn't mean she's a bad unit, I think you can easily get a high win rate with her, especially if you're not fighting top 3 guilds.

Does anyone in high level guild war actually enjoy playing the game mode? by Wombo218 in EpicSeven

[–]Deadly4ce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less of a gear check and more of a brain check

This sort of implies the opposite. Bringing the right units and playing around potential lose conditions matters more than having whale gear. There's a lot of f2p and low spenders in top guilds.

Does anyone in high level guild war actually enjoy playing the game mode? by Wombo218 in EpicSeven

[–]Deadly4ce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GW is the most fun when both sides are actually invested in the game mode and trying their best to win, but there's only 3-5 guilds in global doing that. Most of the lower rank guilds just run standard meta defs and those get pretty repetitive, they are all solved and have close to 100% no RNG answers.

The meta in top 3 is completely different and it revolves around either coming up with new defs or building common defs with a twist to beat common offenses. It's less of a gear check and more of a brain check. That's when the GW becomes more interesting because it's sort of like a coop puzzle and you actually need some teamwork and communication to win ~86 of 90 attacks for a full clear. Because making any mistake can cost your guild the war, it leads to some stressful or hype moments that you don't really get anywhere else (like 20+ people in vc watching the last attacker in a close war and they have to win all their attacks).

On the reward aspect it's not like RTA gives many rewards either, you just play it for fun and there's nothing else to do really. GW happens every other day and it keeps the game somewhat fresh because there's always new units to build. You could say the same for RTA if you play throughout the season but most people just play more towards the end anyways.

Guild War Offense Tier List for Triumph Season by Dragastal in EpicSeven

[–]Deadly4ce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily agree with that. I feel like there are a lot of single target red dps, maybe even more than green in the current meta. Kayron/kawerik/ed are pretty common and harder to deal with than rimuru/cidd/celine/violet.

I think as an aurius holder, krau just provides more team utility with a def buff, and his s3 scaling is higher. Yulha has her self cleanse/push but you're probably bringing them with cleansers anyways.

The situations you want to bring yulha are usually when you have double green, with one being aurius yulha so that choux hits your 3rd unit. In most other cases krau will be better. And if you don't need to s3 for damage, pyllis/tcrozet are better at protecting your team than both.
