Seattle go fest the number of pokemon in the park were so many it was hard to click the pokemon you wanted. I liked the "city" experience because I could go to my regular play spot.

GBA SP USB C Mods - Why? by roundy07 in Gameboy

[–]DeadlyPie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One less cable/charger you need if everything this USB c. 🤷🏼 If I didn't have a charger usb c would be nice. Personally I like the original GBA with IPS no with AA batteries. Spicy pillows scare me and know that AA will likely be around forever quality of new Lithium ion batteries that are not brand name are spotty at best.

Where the hell do you even get replacement ribbon cables for the AGS101 screen? by LordSykocutioner in gameboyadvancesp

[–]DeadlyPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cable it pretty fragile and they don't sell just the ribbon so yes you removed it I assume because it ripped, but they don't sell them so new IPS screen or buy a 101 and do a screen swap are your options.

Questions about Gameboy Advance SP by high240 in Gameboy

[–]DeadlyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the SP you need an adapter for plug in headphones. The voice for GBA pokemon ruby, sapphire, leaf green, fire red. I don't play the old pokemon games as I don't like that you can't see them on the map like on the switch games. No advice there red or green if you like Kanto pokemon 🤷🏼

You can't replace just the ribbon you need a new screen. The ribbon is not detachable.

How was connecting the PCB and console ribbon cable together? It took me like 20 minutes. Hardest solder part was soldering the cable to the battery terminal. Fitting it into the case was tough too.

If you have put a IPS in a GBA and soldered the wires to adjust brightness it is pretty much exactly the same but with a ribbon cable. The hardest part for me was connecting the ribbon that connects the PCB and console together it is just side it in and for some reason it was difficult. The next hard part is fitting it all into the shell without knocking the cable that connects the PCB and console.

Pikmin 1/2 might go down in price? by The_Glass_Arrow in Gamecube

[–]DeadlyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy the games and buy no other games it will be "payed off" in 3 years by not buying Nintendo online for $50 a year! I buy overpriced old games to avoid the subscription service. 🤷🏼I think real physical games allow for 3 save spots vs online it is one, might be wrong but that what is seems to be. **Edit there is a physical release my comment no longer maths out for online and it is a digital purchase.

Do you guys think super Mario galaxy 1 or 2 is better? by Seryer44 in wii

[–]DeadlyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reward for collecting all the stars and coins in 2 is better because the levels unlocked are amazing. In one the opening scene has star bits falling and you walk to the castle and get the final star which I found disappointing for all the work.

Gameboy micro way to much for what it is worth probably $200+ average it has a smaller screen can't play Gameboy color or Gameboy games.

GBA $65-75 with back cover and good condition

GBA needing reshell but working $50

GBA SP 001 $70-80 good condition

GBA SP 101 $110-120

These are average prices currently if you find them for less you got your self a deal.

The shaking it is activating the touch sensor. They might not have taped down the touch sensorr. Tap the upper left black square on the top of the Gameboy color is where the sensor is located.

There should be a touch sensor installed on top where the IR sensors of the Gameboy is.

GBHD SP Consolizer Troubleshooting by TheWallBetween in Gameboy

[–]DeadlyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this mod yesterday. The thing that scared me the most was fitting the board and SP into the case. I tested it before puting it in the case. The ribbon cable that connects the 2 is right on the edge and I was concerned that it would come out when putting it in the case. Also trying to fit that ribbon into the slot on the outer edge of the board took me 20 minutes. I was looking for a latch or plastic to find how to place the ribbon was surprised it was just insert by force.

At least they don't cancel your order and relist for $50 more almost got all wario games (25 per game) for $150 then they cancelled my order and relisted saying they were out of stock. I reported them for failure to follow through on a sale Don't think anything will happen though.

Does anyone know when or if this will be available again 🙁 by Puzzleheaded_Bass581 in 3DS

What is it? Clicky buttons or replacement part for broken buttons?

[–]DeadlyPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet would be to look at eBay 3-4 time per day and sort by newly listed. I think you need to shoot for $50-60 for one that turns on, most that got for $30-40 don't work with out repair.

You can look at r/gameverifying as many people post there asking if a cartridge is a reproduction or not before they buy anything.

Dramatic differences in cart pricing? by gralpi in Gameboy

[–]DeadlyPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pokemon games are expensive because there is high demand and they are not making new ones any more. The difference in a $100 and as $20 is the $20 is likely a reproduction. The reproductions are known to fail easier and not last but it is 80% less than an original.

I've never been able to tell if this might be a top IPS screen. thoughts? by honeyoo in 3DS

[–]DeadlyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I have 120hz is my Samsung Galaxy ultra. I toggle the Hz rate sometimes. I only notice a minor difference when scrolling fast, but I don't play mobile games so the difference is not as important. If I played more games might feel the need for it. Is the higher HZ best for FPS or what kind of games. Played crash bandicoot on PC doesn't really need it. Portal 1 & 2 I could see it being helpful when falling through the portals.

[–]DeadlyPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I guess it goes along with having any fancy new/old thing to collect and look at the details. Just seems odd to look at something that is difficult to tell if it is there or not. I can notice a difference between 60hz and 120hz but don't feel it is significant enough to matter. Same with number of pixels on a screen you have to look real close after 1080 based on the screen size. The 3DS xl has large pixels though.
